I never understood why the A8 was an option in the US and Std. in Canada...

maybe the paint on the hood costs more than originally thought...i know they switched vendors
same with brass monkey wheels....maybe the little kid in China who spray paints them behind the wheel factory wanted a raise
maybe the A8 now costs more to make...they had a shortage...maybe they have a new supplier for a few parts and that increased their prices
maybe obamacare is killing them and they had to come up with another $3k per car to pay it..

could be any reason....707hp -10.7 1/4 mile for $65k is still a bargain no other company can deliver

prices go up every year...on everything

Interesting the changes, you would think they would research more before selling the cars.
big jump on the hood and A8.

Sunroof also jumped a grand. $995 to $1995.
Regardless I wanted a8. Sunroof. And brass monkey. If you wanna play you gotta pay.
FCA knows they can charge it and people will spend it.
If customers don't want to pay for options the car is still incredible.

Dodge is just cashing in on a very hot selling car, just like their dealers are cashing in and charging an ADM for Hellcats. SRT has a real winner in the Hellcats and their new flagship SRT models now that Viper is going to be discontinued. Vipers sit around forever in dealerships while Hellcats are sold immediately and have waiting lists of customers clamoring to get one. I expect Dodge to raise the prices again in the 2017 model year which is suppose to be the last year for Hellcats, but I don't see how they could discontinue the Hellcats now. I expect them to continue building them for at least 3 or 4 more years. No-one is going to buy a turbo charged V6 Barracuda in 2018 and I sure hope Dodge realizes it and ramps-up Hellcat production.

So is the M6 available in Canada? If so is it the same price?
I had a car years ago that the manual was only available in Canada because of our US, EPA!

I'm seeing a lot of 2016s with 70k+ stickers....that's quite a jump from the 62k - 65k of 2015. Sunroof, A8, and BM make for a much higher price. Throw in an ADM and I think we have a recipe for less demand. I have contacted a lot of dealerships for a 2015 over the last 6 weeks, and most of the ones with an ADM are still available. It tells me that there is a price point at which the demand drops off.

On my 2015 Hellcat, the M6 was a $1000 option, with the A8 being the stock offering

Wow, wonder why? The A8 must cost more to build?

    Agreed.

Not sure why it is this way in Canada. In years past the default was the manual transmission, and the automatic was an additional cost option.
