There has to be someone on here with some experience with this. What would the price of a complete color change from granite crystal to pitch black cost. Obviously there is no body damage or rust. Just a repaint. Door jambs and under hood and trunk included. My wife is under the impression this will be cheaper than trading for another.

May be too far out there, but..
Have you looked into a "vehicle wrap"..
I'm intrigued with idea. I have a few company vehicles and a "good wrap" is lasting much longer than I expected and the quality is above average.

Yes I have. Around $3500 for flat black. Not sure of quality of a gloss one. After 5 years or so what is cost of removal and repair to any damage is also a consideration.

Go with a wrap, but settle for black. Get creative. There are a world of options with a wrap.

Sorry about the implication that Black is a settle-for color. If you just love black, by all means get black.

IMO, black is just so popular that it has become common place. Most all my car friends have black cars.
Have you seen the color options for a wrap?

I have seen them. Just worried about durability on say gloss black. Like swirls and scratches. I know how to deal with them on paint but not on vinyl.

What really sucks is my last 9 trucks and 4 cars were all black so I figured I'd try something different. So I got granite crystal. Now every time I see pitch black, I'm like damn it I should a stuck with black. I ordered 2 black ones and got nowhere so I got granite off lot.

Hey Chopper... IMHO - Changing the color will devalue the car... plus it's tough to duplicate a factory paint job. To do a quality job there would have to be a lot of things removed and reinstalled... for a car like this I would pull the engine... the amount of work to do under the hood, jams, hood, trunk etc would cost a fortune to do it in a way someone couldn't tell. Being were in year two of the Hellcat the insanity should start to settle down. I would see if you could trade it in... I'd rather trade and take a $15K hit than to do a repaint. I don't know a lot about wraps but they can do some incredible stuff now a days... It also seems like a cool way to protect your paint and if you get sick of it you can pull the wrap and have the original paint. Personally I do like the Granite Crystal... I would give it some time to see if it grows on you.

My thoughts exactly. Except for the 15 k hit can't do that. I'm gonna wrap it. Ordered a 5x6 sheet for the hood. I'll do it myself. Only a $50 experiment. Can't be that hard.

trade for another car--besides the unreal cost to do it right, your car would also depreciate..

I have a black hood wrap for mine...Now that I've had the Sublime Cat for a while I hate to wrap it. It just looks soooo gooood! I'm curious to hear how your wrap turns out. My guess putting a wrap on takes some technique... so I would ask a lot of questions first... there is probably a youtube video on it. Good Luck.

YouTube has numerous videos. And I've watched them all. I'll post pics and share story when done. Still waiting delivery of vinyl.

Fortunately I didn't get much of it in my area. And I've been in the Hudson river for the past 3weeks so haven't heard much.
