What should be used to clean the dash, door panels and other soft surfaces inside the car ? Don't want anything glossy or oily looking.

I would break cleaning of non-fabric interior surfaces into three categories:

Level 1 - Weekly Maintenance: A damp microfiber (with plain water) to wipe down and remove light dust.

Level 2 - Monthly Detail/minor spills or deposits: Use a product with light cleaning abilities such as Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer, 1Z Cockpit Premium, or a diluted multi-purpose waterless/rinseless wash solution.

Level 3 - Heavy dirt or spills (sticky/etc.): Use a dedicated interior surface cleaner such as CarPro Inside, or a properly diluted All Purpose Cleaner. Follow either of these up with a damp microfiber to remove any residue left behind.

You almost definitely won't find 1Z at your local auto parts store; many online vendors carry it though.

If you just get a California Dash duster which will actually remove the dust without water or chemicals you can almost eliminate cleaning of any kind. That means no rags, towels, water, cleaners and it is kinder to your interior in the long term.

I ended up ordering Chemical Guys Inner Clean for the dash and this Meguiar's liquid wax for the exterior.

While the initial investment is high my favorite product for cleaning the interior is steam... A good steam cleaner isn't cheap but really cleans and eliminates all the chemicals.

Also has many uses for household cleaning as well.

Would love to know what you think of the Inner Clean, once you get a chance to use it.

I often use the paste version of that Meguiars wax and I love it. I hate that they call it wax though.... It's synthetic so it's really more of a sealant. Great product no matter what they call it!

I just wanted something that wasn't going to leave white residue on the plastic trim and hood vents.Looks like the Turtle Wax Black Ice I've used before.
