I see some are using the Metco pulley and some are using the ATI pulley. When/Why would you use one over the other?

Some people are having issues with the crank pulley spinning off the crank.....should pin the crank if you do this mod

Thanks hellcat1. Are there advantages to the crank pulley mod vs. the sc pulley mod?

Metco is working on a kit to put a stock pulley on without removing the supercharger,, plus the metro upper pulley is half the cost of the ati lower pulley

Makes sense. I guess performance wise they achieve the same with the proper tune?

The ATI damper is a 2.6 drive ratio vs. the stock 2.38. The Metco pulleys allow up to about a 2.9 drive ratio I believe. More drive ratio, more boost.

Our supercharger pulleys install with no modifications necessary, and the process is completely reversible if desired. Our pulleys are interchangeable, and allow for boost gains as high as 10 or 11 additional pounds. We also have a stock-diameter pulley ring available for those who wish to later return to the original boost level.

Any pulley changes require the appropriate PCM revisions and proper-length supercharger belt. Pulley changes may affect your warranty.

With regards to the balancer issues...I believe there have been about six documented failures, all on unmodified cars with the exception of one that had an aftermarket balancer that was not pinned. We are still collecting data to determine if there is a link among these cars (build dates?) with reported failures.

We are a manufacturer and our products are also available through a network of authorized retailers. It is our policy to refrain from special deals or promotions to avoid competing unfairly with them.
We do allow our retailers some discretion with our pricing, so I suggest checking with them for Black Friday promotions. Several of our stocking distributors have have forums on this site.

    IMO.....

Metco's pulley price is really quite fair considering the quality and functionality of the item. I was very impressed with my 2.75 and also expect the same when my stock ring comes in.
The costs are really in the ECU, tune, crank pinning, and driveshaft that you will need (in the case of an A8 for sure)

I am all about saving, but the Metco stuff is reasonably priced IMHO

    Best Regards.

    Ya your right
Is there any reason you went with a 2.75 over the 2.85?

More boost. I am seeing 15-16lbs with good AFR's (11.7-11.8).
HHP tune is quite good and the company is first class. I also have 94 fuel readily available in Canada.
Still need to put in a shaft and run it down the track but the car is crazy fast and I am not seeing any ST or LT knock.

In retrospect, the 2.85 would be a "safer" option for pump gas as I think the 2.75 is pushing the limits, but if you wanna play, expect the worst . . . . .

    just my .02

best of luck on your setup
