Can any verify how their heat functions on the auto setting? My 2016 srt only puts out heat on the floor board and top defrost vents. So there no heat coming from the front facing dash. I can manually set it to come out the mid level front facing dash. Chrysler tells me this is normal operation. How does everyone else cars functions.

So in my 40 years of driving, 'heat' has always come out at the feet (as heat rises). This legacy thinking has stayed true thru today's vehicles as when in the "auto" mode heat is directed down. Auto mode doesn't work front and rear defrosters (manually activated) or change to a blended flow thru the vents.

We also own a 2015 Durango and on auto heat the heat is a blend between feet and front facing vent. It works very well. But on my charger it's a blend between feet and defrost.

Every car I've ever owned worked this way. If you want hot air in your face, go talk to a politician :p;)

Actually heat from the top defrost vents, gives me heat all in my face, that's my problem. And not all cars work that way, like I said my Durango doesn't work that way.
