Just curious as to what I can expect the dealership to try to push on me when I go pick up my cat Monday.

Warranties and other crap. Anything worth picking up??? Please fill me in!

    Thanx!

I got the extended warranty (because this is the first production year for this engine), plus the tire and wheel warranty. Check that paint carefully. Seems like those of us that got our cars before the January/February time frame have had much better luck with our paint.

I will bite, the extended warranty was around 3K for 7 year/60,000 miles and went up to over 5k for 8 years/120,000 miles with a $ 100.00 deductible, I did not bite due to some issues with the dealer. I am still playing with the idea, but the the field is changing so rapidly, maybe a 2017 Cat is so improved over the 15 that I trade it in, who knows.

Dealer pushed extended warranty and was willing to negotiate. With my '08 Chally I bought the extended warranty when it was about 2 years old. I got offers in the mail from several dealers. I bought from a dealer in Missouri and saved a bunch of money.

I picked up my cat yesterday. Torred A8 Challenger.

Make sure you inspect the paint in good sunlight so any defects are caught. Keep your head from swirling...I'm usually pretty cool but missed a scratch that I should have caught and might have used to reduce my agreed ADM at time of order. Fked up on that but honestly after six months of waiting not sure if I would have walked away. Hopefully a paint correction specialist can fix. I used a checklist which was compiled based on the experience of members of this site.

Usual car sales bs..."let us sell you some insurance, let us sell you an extended warranty, let us sell you some carpet and paint protection". I let the dance play out as I will need the dealership to service the car and declined the extras but it ate up time. Everything offered was overpriced.

The car is incredible. So much power. I was pretty nervous driving it out of the dealership...thought I would do an accidental burnout and wrap around a telephone pole but the car is really easy to handle. It's like an exotic tiger that is extremely dangerous but when treated properly will purr and rub on your leg.

This is all good information. A big KUDOS to everyone that participated. I too got sucked into the wheeling and dealing at the dealership back when I bought my Magnum RT. The only thing that I ended paying for was their Force Tracker recovery system... Which reminds me, I wonder if it's transferrable to a newer vehicle. The technology is probably so old by now (from 10 years ago), there's bound to be greater advances in the unit itself.
