    Hi Guys,
I picked up my Cat Friday and have about 700 mi on it over the last 4 days. Problem I am having is that it pops out of first gear sometimes. It's happened about 10 times so far when pulling away from a light. Sometimes when I shift into first it feels like it goes in gear "clean", Other times i hit a second "notch" (synchro?) while going into first. I push it FIRM past that notch and it seems OK. But this is when it sometimes pops out of gear.
Yes I push the clutch in all the way. Anyone have this issue? Is there something I can adjust?
    Thanks
    -Bo

I haven't seen this on my M6, but typically this is caused because the shifter didn't completely engage. This is either caused by you not getting the shifter completely into gear (or releasing clutch early) or the actual shifter needing some kind of adjustment. I do not know if the M6 shifter mechanism can be adjusted, I would assume it can be.

If you are convinced it isn't you, as that is the first thing the dealer is going to assume, I would take it in.

I've had that happen a couple of times but only when I'm not pushing the clutch in enough.

Thanks for the replies. This is the first stick I have had this problem going back 40+ years. I'll give it some time to see if it smooths out and take it in if I have to. I have a lift at home so if it's a simple adjustment I would like to give that a try first.

I ordered my car July 6, 2014 from Bob, then another dealer...then got the call that my car is canceled. Found one at a local dealer in CA (Colma) to my surprise. They wanted 15K adm but I offered 5K and they took it. (last day of the month). I wanted a Red Car but that sold the day prior so they only had Black. I figured I would just suffer with the Phantom Black and Satin hood but as it turns out the wife and I actually like the black better, go figure.

I'll post some pics in the Purchasing thread tonight.

    Thanks

i have this issue but it only happed a few times and its me not putting the shifter into first gear all the way. just make sure the clutch is in and make sure the shifter is all the way in.......it may feel like its in but give it a little more push to double check.

Just wondering if this is a skip shift phenomenon. Do you always hit 20 mph prior to shifting out of first? It sometimes feels as if the gearbox is in "no man's land" if you try to shift from first to second, and haven't escaped the skip shift lock out.

I would not think it's related to the skip shift, but I am always hitting that as well. I will disable it this weekend.
My wife drives more gentle than me and she never hit the skip shift. I must be shifting exactly how the Federal Government intended...I'll also order the service manual to see if there is some sort of adjustment that I can do.

I have 1100 miles on my car and I've never had this problem. It happens on my 70 Cuda all the time. Keep us posted what you find out. Good luck!

Mine only did it once. And it was as I was going up my driveway which is a small incline.

I got my sublime hellcat over 2 weeks ago (fri 7/17/15) from stewart in colma. I saw the red one in the showroom and the black one outside, near mine, both hadn't been PDI'd. I took pics.

That happens to me most of the time on both 6-speeds that I have had.
