Ok, so idk if any of you have seen the meet for mustangs vs hellcats that's been all over the internet. I was reading comments and I know ford has the the gt500 and the super snake and they are cars with great power. Why does it seem the hype wasn't there for those cars but the hellcat seemed to take the world by storm?

I think the hype was there for those rides. Chrysler just hit a home run with a car no one asked for. 707hp looks good on paper.

Yea I mean I know what u mean but I never to my knowledge remember seeing as much publicity for a vehicle ever when this car launched. It's like even before it was released it had a huge target on its back.

There was way more hype in 2013 for the 662hp 202mph GT500..........

gt500's went from 500 to 550 to 662....a slow evolution....while the HC is a brand new model and went from 470hp to 707hp

you believe there is hype? 99% of women have no idea what a HC is, over 50% of men have no idea what a HC is....that # with men may be as high as 75%........

my wifes friends....they know what a Shelby is.....i think over 1/2 of them....not 1 knows what a HC is

you think everyone knows because you do and its important to you.........now the ZL1...i dont think hardly anyone knew the 570hp ZL1 existed.....i cant even tell one w/o seeing the tiny badge....

the only reason prices are still high is there is no competition....if there was a Zl1 and a GT500 just as fast the dodge would be selling for $500 over msrp tomorrow..

a very high % of the population considers Dodge a POS and would never consider buying one....while Ford/Chevy have a much higher % of people who would buy them.....just more Ford people out there...

    707 sold me immediately.
    It became a MUST have!
Never been happier about a car purchase. Not even close.

Wrong again my boy it's because it is a classic iconic Dodge Challenger with a fuel injected supercharged Hemi setting under the hood and I guarantee you that more people know what a Hemi is than a Shelby is and apparently you haven't been to the dragstrip lately I have I don't see the Mustangs walking off from those hellcats least I haven't seen it yet and another thing how dare you talk about your hellcat like that show a little respect the Hemi has set more records than Ford and Chevy both and if there was anything that made more power than a Hemi they would have it in Top Fuel this very day that's exactly why Ford copied the Hemi with the boss and with the raptor truck motor and speaking of popular they still can't make them fast enough they're selling everyone they can roll down the line we know you're a dyed in the wool yellow dog Ford lover huggy tree that's no secret to us but show a little respect that's just the way I see it.

Just remember, If Ford had not released the 662 hp Shelby GT500, I doubt you would have been driving a 707 hp Dodge Hellcat.

That could be absolutely true but remember I actually like the Shelby and the GT500 I'm not on here running them down.

Back in the day when the 409's came out everybody wanted one, when the 427 Ford's & 427 Chevy's came out everybody wanted one, when the 426 Hemi came out everybody wanted one. History repeats itself. Face it the American buyer love's horsepower. And as everybody knowws you can never have enough horsepower. Only thing now is cost $$$$$$.

Agree. The jump to 707 just exceeded all known/imagined expectations.
