Finalized install and works fantastic I mounted front cam which came with silver package to help keep eye on spoiler when needed and for fun installed Apple TV which I run via personal hotspot from my iPhone. Enabled functions with Nav while in motion. Great product from Customtronix and great customer service from them. Will upload video in little while.

Mounted under bumper in front of grill. Line was a bit of pia but not bad. Tapped into under hood fuse box to power cam. Cam is set up to come on screen automatically under 20km/h. Can be de selected and operated by button only if desired. I didn't think I would like it come on when slow down but I actually like it.

So the 8.4 unit can connect to ur own personal hotspot? That's great. I always wondered if that was possible. Really interested in this.

Yes they are. Was to be temporary then I forgot I used them. Just one of those out of site out of mine things. After I took the pic and saw the rust on them I went red with embarrassment. Good catch though.

    That is great!

    I have a few questions :

How did you get behind the monitor to plugin the cable?

    What the easiest way?

How long did it take you?

Are they really spot on with the software updates? (I mean the special HK update to improve sound quality, for example?)

How did you get the AppleTV connected, I dont see HDMI on their harness?

    Thanks

I would like to add another question.
Is the touch screen functional? IE. Can you make selections to the apple TV or do you need to use the remote?

Just based on the fact that you only have a video cable means NO touchscreen....but it would be cool, I agree

Very easy to get head unit out. Just pop dash bezel off Lots of clips but simple once you get it started. Four bolts hold radio in they supply an oem looking cable which is about a foot long to go in between radio and factory harness providing extra inputs.

I can remove bezel and radio install cable less than 1 hr.

I have not done update yet but Rax only seems 1 week behind they have great customer service.

You need an HDMI to Composite converter off eBay or someplace similar they are under 20 bucks. This was the only hard thing for me to get up here in Canada as the units sold at computer stores here were HDCP compliant and would cause a protest message going to the cars screen (not compliant) so make sure you get the ones straight from China ;) they don't really care about the rules. Haha

I used a simple fanless 12 v to ac converter in a build Box to power the Apple TV and the HDMI converter. You can also do the usb mod on the Apple TV if you like they draw almost no power.

I ran the power converter to constant power and installed a hidden switch so the Apple TV will not pwr cycle on start ups etc.

I did t take pics of install but Apple TV is in glove box with HDMI converter mounted behind as you must use Apple TV remote to operate.

Hope that answered some questions there is a YouTube video somewhere showing the radio bezel removal on a 15 challenger.

Good luck mine has been working perfectly since install

thanks for answering all of my questions!

the other module in the market "lockpick" seems to do similar stuff, and with the new one, you can also get the screensharing...399bucks...RAX however looks much cleaner, as they mod the software....

I'm thinking of going the Rax and combining it with something like the roku stick. I should still be able to screencast my phone as well as the other abilities of the Roko apps. And at a reduced price.
