With the whole debacle of the HK system not being tuned right from the factory, I thought any rattling coming from the rear was due to a blown speaker or two. After turning the fade to the rear, I sat back there to investigate. Not touching anything, there was significant rattling. No audible distortion, just rattle. If I applied downward pressure to the carpeted deck over the sub, the rattling subsided by 80-90%. Let go, and it rears its ugly head.

I've installed Dynamat in previous cars to help alleviate the rattling, but wonder if it would do any good on the underside of the rear deck. Any thoughts? Brampton Builder what do you think? What's the difficulty rating for removing the deck?

Contact your dealer, TSB 08-050-15 was released to resolve "rattle" and "experiencing poor sound quality". Was just released may 6th and they will reflash the amp on the HK audio systems.

That TSB only solves the poor audio sound quality which I had flashed last Friday. Now that the system sounds as it should, we now notice deck rattling. Where in the TSB, or other document, did you see that rattling was a concern?

My 11 Charger is plagued with this issue and I told the dealer if the 15 does it I will dog them forever. This is very disappointing! Almost as much as waiting over 70 days for a car that has been built and is 90 miles from the dealer.

Guessing nothing was done with your '11 Charger to alleviate the rattling?

Correct...they looked at it and put in the findings to chrysler ..think I had it in 2-3 times for it. Fixed it with a Red Wings hat stuffed tight to the rear window. Its the flimsy cardboard covered with carpet vibrating.

yea, its a shame, my '12 srt charger had the same issue. I ended up folding some paper and stuffed it between the window and deck.

I visited dealer today regarding the HK TSB (and service airbag fault) and service advisor told me they had already done this for several users who had been reporting rattles on the rear speakers. Feedback from the dealer directly (Provincial Chrysler in Windsor, ON).

Fixed my 13 Charger with the HK that had a package tray rattle by installing some self adhesive foam weather stripping on the underside of the rear glass edge. Package tray pulls out easy by removing the two retainers. Granted you (we) shouldn't have to do this but its a quick easy fix.

I concur, but I like my tech and don't want to waste his time with something so trivial. Thanks for the tip.

There may be concerns, but you had made it sound like there was a TSB for the rattling, and that's something I have yet to see. Other members are having blown speaker problems, but maybe people are confusing deck rattling for bad speakers. caren, Rob K, any deck rattling for either of you?

Also depends on the type of music listened to. With some songs, you wouldn't notice any issue, but with others, it's quite clear.
