Y'all worried about your first engine oil change?

There is another department you may want to look into as well...

I did mine at 1537 miles and it looked great. There was no metallic stuff that they eye could see and color was much more amber than yours.

I used Amsoil 75W90 with no added friction modifier as the replacement fluid. I've put about 600 miles on since. The diff is quiet and functioning well.

graemel the fluid specs are posted in the WIKI http://www.hellcat.org/wiki/?title=Fluid-Capacities-and-Specifications

Whatever Dodge calls for it; and they had to order it, did not have it in the shop.

I think I will do mine this upcoming week. Mine makes all sorts of noises, whether it is the whine from 45-55mph on light acceleration or the growling noise when rolling to a stop. I really doubt my diff will last the summer.

Just a shame, because the Getrags in the previous years Challengers were noisy garbage. You would think Dodge would have done some homework with the 15s and new 707hp/650tq car being released.

How much of a pain was it to add the new fluid, did you need any sort of special funnel or pump?

Slight growl here lately while turning slow. I ordered redline 75w85 and some mopar friction additive yesterday.

I purchased mine about 2 months ago....had the groan when doing sharp turns and figure 8s.
Changed the fluid (its really easy to do yourself) ....zero groan after a couple of figure 8s and have not heard anything since. I plan on doing it yearly...
Changed it out with the following:
    Mopar LSD 75W-85 (2 bottles)or 1.16 quarts/ 37.12 oz part number: 68232948AA
    Limited Slip Additive - 0.74 - 1.856 oz. (2-5% of 37.12 oz) Friction modifier: Part number: 4318060AC
    Torque: 26 ft/lb both bolts
You will need this: (you can get this at any auto parts store)

I'll probably do mine early as well, but out of curiosity what interval does dodge suggest for it?

They show inspection every 18 months...doesn't mention changing.:p
Changing it only if your car is a taxi or police use every 4 years or 48k miles....
If you wait this long your differential will be whining more than our wives when we bought these cars...

How many miles did you have on your car before you drained the rear diff oil?
