Still too tall with the way the trans is geared--1st, 2nd and 5th, 6th are just too tall--is there a replacement transmission with improved gearing??

I agree... Looking at the math a 4.10 gear would put a 1st shift in low 50s range. I don't think the offered Mopar 3.90 gear is worth the change

You want to replace the entire transmission instead of just of just changing the rear end? What the hell for?

The A-8 uses a 2.62 rear axle ratio.

I still don't like the spread on the gears

1st & probably 2nd gear would be unusable. Like a 'granny'.

    Going from a 3.70 to a 4.10 is not that huge of a jump and would yield a 55mph 1st gear shift at 6,000rpm. I wouldn't call running 55 in 1st a granny gear.

    4.10 - 1st - 55mph - 6th-198mph
    4.30 - 1st - 52mph - 6th - 189mph

    Cruise
    4.10 - 70mph - 2120 rpm
    4.30 - 70mph - 2230rpm

Tremec.com has an easy calculator for those that want to play around with ratios.

    I agree with norcaltech...

The spread on the gears is horrible. At least with the zr1's and 13-14 gt500's ALL the gears were long there for a gear swap made for a great mod.

I had a Tremec TKO600 in my Camaro. In part, that's why I chose the A8 in the HC. So far, I love it, especially in paddle shift mode. The downshifts are pretty cool.
