    i was at a event last night with a bunch of car/ engine guys. One stated a recall on the
    Hellcat was out for the crank pulley issue ? Has anyone heard this ? I know there has been a few but I don't think a recall has been issued yet.
    Thanks

    Have not heard of any recall / TSB / RRT for this issue as of yet.

    Hope this true, as my crank pulley failed yesterday. I will look into this tomorrow when I go to the dealer and talk with SRT.

    Can't find anything on the "net" when I do a search. The Intel might be too fresh.....fingers crossed. There was a post that said a change had been made to 2016 motors....I wrote SRT and they said they had no information to share with me.

    Keep us all posted on the recall / TSB as well as the motor replacement. Even though this appears to be a low percentage problem....it certainly makes me a little uneasy.

    wewsrt8.....Very sorry to hear about your failure. My username started out as "greencat" it's now "graycat" due to my 15 sublime cat having lots of issues the final one being the crank pulley failure. Dodge has in every case that I'm aware of (14 so far including yours and mine and that's from this forum's members only) replaced the motor. My car failed on December 4th of last year, I got the replacement on Feb 10th of this year. The motor just got replaced in the green car last week and it's on it's way to an auction now, GOOD RIDDENCE!!!

    Speaking with one of the guys at the dealership that did the work and transferred the new car to me, he said that the "guy at SRT told him that he personally has dealt with ten of these failures and that since most owners don't actually drive their cars very much they may not have the problem until after the warranty expires" If you have not voided the warranty in such a way that "may have caused or contributed to the incident" you'll get the car fixed by plugging in a fresh motor regardless of weather or not a recall has been issued.

    I wish you the very best of luck! You are far from the first person to deal with this problem. Chrysler was fair with me, their was one little thing that was attempted with me that did not fly but if you are not asking for a replacement or repurchase of your car it will not happen to you. If you just want the car fixed, you should be fine. No telling how long it will take for them to get a replacement motor but it will get fixed.

    Hopefully a recall has been issued and these are fixed prior to failure in most cars.

    graycat, Thanks for the information! I have done nothing to the car mechanically that would void my warranty, so I should be good. I'm looking into all the threads associated with this issue.

    Congrats on getting your replacement Cat!!

    Be curious if anyone has collected the VINs associated with the crank pulley failures. So far, quick list ..

    wewsrt8 = FH834424
    NCWildCat = FH834366

    graycat (aka greencat) - do you recall the VIN of your green car ??

    You really need build dates, not VINs...they are not in order.

    Here is a question for the owners that received a replacement engine. Is the crank pinned on the replacement engine? If not, I doubt that there is any action going on for a recall. You guys are in the eye of the storm. If there was a fix in the works, you would have gotten it. Right?
