You know they put some tall gears in the 6-spd Hellcats. I wonder what they will run if we swap them for some 3.73's, 4.10/4.11's....4.56's?

    I don't want to run 60mph in 1st gear. I don't need to run 200mph...but I'd sure like to rip off a 9-second 1/4 mile!

Ring, ring..Hello Randy's Ring and Pinion...

I doubt I would go 4:56 maybe the 3:73s. Why not wait and see what the computer program upgrades come up with first.

Yes I figure 3.73's would probably be the best middle-ground. I was just day dreaming...lol

Have the 6 speed Richmond in my 70 with 3:73 gear set in my Dana 60. I wonder how different the gearing is compared to the Hellcat? Bigger tires. The Richmond is only over drive in 6th and 1st/2nd are lower. I am guessing the gearing is going to be so much better in the Hellcat.

I believe the 6 speeds are equipped with 3.70 rear gears. My 14 SRT8 392 equipped with 3.90 rear gears. Have to shift to 2nd well before reaching 60 mph.

Should be three shifts to the finish line in the 1/4..Easily! Gears are taller in the manuals Im happy with the painting no need to add my brush marks :)
I have about 750 miles on my new Hellcat 6 speed and the throws 1-3 are effortless any gearing change will void the 5 year warranty like a fart in a wind storm ..

Honestly, I think anything shorter than the 3.55 area will only cause the tires to spin through third gear. 3.70 seems a bit short to me. The 3.92s in the '09 6-speed gave me fits launching it without wheel-spin or wheel-hop. A 2nd gear start didn't help either....
I can only imagine how tough it will be launching a 3.70 geared 707HP car without breaking the rears free on a regular basis - even on a prepped track.

Slicks are the only tire that will hook up on this car that's been obvious driving the HC around the past week ..No tire is gonna hold sadly but a MIckey Thompson ET for the street ...Oops did I say that ? I see the gearing issues as a non issue right now but that many change down the line.Way down the line

Whenever I see gearing where first goes to 60mph or just beyond I assume the manufacturer's goal was a faster 0-60 time by eliminating the need to shift.

.....of course, you have to have the engine to pull it there, which in this case, isn't an issue. :D

Second gear starts work best for me, so for me its 2 gears for a Quarter. IMO first gear is worthless unless driving normal, maybe it will change with drag radials but I doubt it.

i wouldnt mess with it....0-60 in 1st gear is where it should be with 707hp....without it you will just spin your tires even more
i wish the automatic was 0-60 in 1st...maybe it would get some better 0-60's and not just smoke the tires all the way up to 3rd
