Let's all play "Remember That Noise We All Heard Part II."

Remember that noise we all heard and wondered if it was the supercharger or the rear differential?
While CF was being installed, took tech for a ride...

Damn it! It is the rear differential for me

    2600 miles.

Whining like a teenage girl denied tickets to a Justin Beiber concert, and got more soup in it than a bingo parlor.

No repair, must be completely replaced. Unbelievable in a brand new $67K car. Just shitty from the factory and have had the noise (getting worse) since new.

    Now I must rampage.

If you are smart, you will get the f@ck out of my way as I stomp around Tokyo...

Well, at least it's under warranty.... How long will it takento repair? Cost if not covered by watranty?

Speaking of noises, I hear a very loud "clang" after shutting the car down. Like taking a wrench and hitting it against a metal pot.

I'm assuming it is the exhaust cooling down but it's pretty damn loud.

Just went through the same thing. I feel your pain. What were your symptoms? When does the whining start and was it throttle initiated?

If it's new the exhaust does do that until heat treated from driving

Same here. I usually get 2 good ones after shutting down. One of them scared the crap out of cat that happened in the driveway.

Started as a light part thottle whine-thought it was the supercharger, it grew exponentially when I lowered the car and I thought it was normal, and then got really loud with the CF driveshaft-all what is normal as it will get louder over time, but that is what I noticed, as I noticed.

Did the gear fail??? Or just make noise and could you hear it coming from the back of the car? Since you got the CF drive shaft I'm guessing you drive hard or race the Cat. I drive the car hard but no real hard launches. I have not taken the car to the strip yet. I'm the guy I bitched about when I was 20yr old LOL. " Why don't that old man beat on that T/A ";)

Negative. Don't track or race the 'Cat. I may take her down the 1320, and may take her out on a 'TexasMile or two. I don't even swing the tach past 2K until the transmission is in the normal range-she is not babied-but she is definitely not abused and certainly not raced.

Essentially from break-in (which I followed) I have had this problem. It has only gotten worse.

FWIW, I added the CF driveshaft because after that the only performance mod I am adding will be an airbox, so I wanted max bang for the DS change.
