I was on our Facebook forum and a member mentioned that removing the right light insert would aid in the escape of hot air out of the engine bay. It makes sense to me, as colder air comes rushing in it would force some of the air out of the vent in the hood. I wanted to get other people's opinion before I removed mine. What do you guys think?

FYI, the picture is not of my Hellcat, I just found it on the net, easier than taking a picture of mine.

Unless for some reason your car is running hotter than usual, I don't see the benefit in that except for getting more dirt in your engine bay. These cars have been designed to allow adequate airflow in and out of the engine.

    Cheers!

I agree. Think about the frontal area of your radiator right now. Is that little DRL opening really going to do anything?

I'd recommend to make it easier for the air to get out instead of shoving more air in. That is, if you're having temperature issues right now.

I think FCA would have done this if there were a need for it.

I removed the passenger side cap and installed an inlet port screen and then installed another one on the drivers side air intake. I like the balanced look.
