I hate when things like this happen. R.I.P. Mr. Spock. You will be missed. "Live long and prosper..." I shall do neither, as my friend is dead.

Thats a loss, he was a good actor in the series. I don't remember him doing much else.

Me too. I attended my first Star Trek Convention when I was around 13 (around 1974); I remember talking into my wallet, watching the show all the time; memorizing such important items as the number of tribbles the barkeeper placed on the bar. At the time I was attending a Jewish school and the nerdy group of us also thought that Nimoy did a great job as Spock; bringing the Jewish "Kohan" (priestly) sign of blessing to the mainstream. The males in our little nerd group had our reasons for loving this actor and character. I think the girls had their own reasons for their crush (but for what should now be obvious reasons, they never talked to me - so that is only a guess).

Nimoy also wrote a couple of great books, and recorded great, um, classic songs ("Highly Illogical", "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins"). And he seemed a man of humility as well. RIP.

On top of acting, singing, and playing several instruments, Mr. Nimoy was also a director, and a damned good photographer. I have always admired him and been fascinated by him. I am not one of those people that gets really ripped up when a celebrity dies, but I admit that I shed a few tears over Leonard Nimoy. We lost a really talented, special, person when that man died.
