As the months go by waiting on the Charger Hellcat I kept thinking how cool would it be to drop 707hp Hellcat engine, 6 manual transmission with its rear end into a much lighter old school Dodge or Chrysler chassis. At the price range of a Hellcat do you think it can be done?

This would be a ground up restoration with the latest modern suspension and chassis mods from a donor car but can't decide if a A- Body or B-body chassis would do it for me. I'm thinking any year Cuda but also like 68-70 Chargers. Come on Mopar Graveyard Cars TV viewers brainstorm with me.

From what I saw, only one hellcat engine has been released to the public and SRT tried to get it back. The guy told them to go puns salt. Think he paid 17k for it.

Interesting that they won't sell one but I'm looking to hopefully buy a deceased Hellcat someone wrecked and pull whatever parts from it which would be much cheaper and will have the wiring harness and ecu etc.

If you have a very large bank roll you can have anything done. How much do you think this would cost if you already had a 70 Charger R/T in your possession that needed nothing which you don't?

You're expecting much in that price range. Maybe by those in the know, have every connection conceivable to manage cost and the skill and tools to do it in house. Otherwise not...

I would certainly have to have all my ducks in a row to achieve this build. In it at $70k would be doable but I have to start off with 69-70 decent Cuda clone Charger that was 6 cylinder or 318 ci cause it would be sacrilegious and very expensive to harvest a real one. Upgrade aftermarket 4 link suspension systems isn't hard to find. One benefit is I have childhood friends in the auto industry that have built resto-rods before and can get me parts at cost plus I would have their expertise and assistance if need be. I think my biggest obstacle is finding a wrecked Hellcat's around. I can't even figure what one would go for wrecked.

I think if you can wait to end of summer you will be able to find an engine to get started in your build.
