I recently picked up a set of the 56" two piece race ramps From Summit racing. I paid $209 although I think they were listed for $228? There was also a $20 rebate offer that I just realized I snoozed on by a week. I am not sure if that is still valid. I purchased them mostly to do oil changes on my 2016 Challenger Hellcat. I have several Jacks and stands but not the pinch weld tools to jack the car safely. I just find ramps quicker and easier for oil changes. I have a set of heavy duty plastic Rhino ramps that I tried. Clearance to the spoiler was an issue. I built two level steps by nailing two pieces of plywood together offset to climb the front tires a bit. The Rhinos started to slide on my painted concrete floor. End of experiment period...

I figured on giving the Race Ramps a try. Somehow I decided on the 56" after doing some measurements. I went with the two piece and it is nice to be able to remove the back piece to have access to the side of the car. Someone mentioned here there may be a calculation to decide what size ramps you need and it comes out to a longer style. I can say for my car which is a stock height Challenger Hellcat with correct tire pressure. I performed my first oil change using these and the clearance was fine and they did not slide at all. The two pieces showed no signs of coming apart and I felt very confident driving up on them. I had a friend spot for me the entire time and he said there were no clearance issues. The long slow climb up on the ramps took much longer than I am used to using the shorter ramps. I felt very confident working under the car with these ramps which are made of a dense foam material. I don't think there could be a catastrophic collapse with these ramps like there could be with hollow plastic or steel. I think the worst that could happen is a slight compression but I think you would really have to overload them. Each ramp is rated for 1500 pounds so the pair can hold up to 3000 pounds. Probably much less than the front end of our cars. The only warning I would give with the two piece ramps is if you remove the back pieces I would suggest leaving one right by the drivers door so you have to trip over it to get in the car. If you did not put these back and tried to drive down the car would come down with a horrible thud. Other than that for any folks hesitating to change their oil because they have no way to get the car in the air this may be for you. They are much cheaper than a lift. Always use a spotter to make sure ramps are straight as you are climbing with tires on the ramps. I highly recommend these. They work for me. Be safe.

They are a quality item. I am searching for other ways to use them. I will use them to change oil on my pickup truck even though I can just do that laying on the ground.

Thanks guys. I love the fact this may help other guys work on their own cars who may otherwise never try. The lightness of them as mentioned is a nice extra.
