Rumor: 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 Starts at $53,000, Even Sportier Model Coming Soon
[IMG]When Ford pulled the sheet off the new 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 in L.A., it promised a razor-sharp track beast that wouldn’t break the bank. Ford still won’t talk specific numbers on power or price, but the website Horsepower Kingsclaims to have insider knowledge that the newest Shelby Stang will sticker at $52,995—and they say an even hotter GT350R is coming to the Detroit auto show.

Internet rumors are worth about as much as the paper they’re printed on, but the mid-$50,000 range seems like a reasonable guess for the new GT350. That would put it right in the same range as the $57,800 Camaro ZL1, which packs 580 screaming supercharged horses but stays more street-oriented than the stripped-out track rat that is the $75,000 Camaro Z/28. We know from conversations with Ford folks that the GT350 will be more comfortably appointed for daily-driving duty than the Z/28, especially when equipped with the “Tech” package of interior upgrades. Horsepower Kings says that package will cost an additional $2995.

That pricing would line up with another rumor that Horsepower Kings mentions, namely that Ford is building a more track-focused GT350R with better brakes, tires, and aero. If such a Mustang materializes, likely at the Detroit auto show in January, expect it to be comparable to the Z/28 in speed equipment, (lack of) amenities, and price.

If anyone tells you the muscle-car era is dead, smack them. These are greattimes for fans of American speed.

No issues either. But someone posted a pic of the 08 Honda Accord & the new Mustang. There is an uncanny resemblance. The Z28 price point is too high, IMO. So a mid fifties Mustang that can compete will sell well.

"Grabber" blue, it is ok I like the DEEP IMPACT Blue of course my is Ingot Silver with black strips, I had to take what I could find since I wanted a rag top. My first choice would have been Performance white with the blue stripes on the convertible but they carried the stripe color in the seats and I like my seats because they are all black. some of the in set colors on the seats look crumby.

i could care less about handling, so i wouldnt even consider a gt350.... Ford always offers the best bang for the buck, so id assume the pricing is spot on...

they will sell 4,000+ of them a year at that price

i alway think of that baby blue as a girls color...there's a guy i see at local shows with the white stripes....it screams GIRLY....with black stripes it butches the color up some....i considered that color, but the deep impact blue is much nicer...looks purplish in the shade and sparkly blue in the sun.....i can spot deep impact blue on any Ford from a block away...its a color that stands out....now i can see the baby blue from 1 mile away......i love high impact colors....all except for that one
