O, this maybe a tall order, but has anyone thought about removing the air filter and seeing if there is a power increase and supercharger whine... Sorry for my crazy ideas
It's definitely going to change the sound of the intake. But I'd be leary to do it outside of the driveway or garage. Maybe being too cautious, but anything sucked up into that intake may cause a hairball...
I had a discussion about that with the Viper Tech at my dealership wondering how long it might be before reports of birds and other critters sucked into the intake start coming in. That would be an expensive repair!
I'm curious to hear how this goes. I've run K&N in a custom air box on my last two supercharged vehicles, not familiar with the "green" filters. A less restrictive filter may increase supercharger whine considerably on the Hellcats.
I've mentioned it on other posts before. A good inspection of the air box beforehand would be advised. A cap or block over the intake with a big red streamer draped over the hood while storing it maybe a good idea as well.
This car is going require more maintenance pre & prior to running it then your average grocery getter for sure...
Can you give me exact website and part number and was reason of this green over kn?? Exact details please and are you going to add the mopar cold air suction to the head light ??
I already drive a hellcat, so my headlight is open, the company is green air US, there is a video of them showing a stock filter and a K&N, and the green flows better,,, So I will be giving it a try..
Cool I would leave the intake alone unless someone proves the after market is better. Main thing I want to make sure is not even a single gnat gets thru to the supercharger lol
Hmmmmm....i haven't opened up the air box. Is there any screen or something to stop things from getting in there? Seems like they would consider that...
This Challenger will be like my Impala. Cleaned before it gets garaged. (never spent a night outside since I've owned it) & rarely out of sight. The O.C.D. really kicks in when I take it out, as I go through everything before I take it out for a haul. Fluids & tire pressures are a must in my books.
Yeah, I always check my oil at fill up and the tire pressure is easily chechoed on the computer along with all pressure guages. I just didn't think about checking that box yet. I'm gonna tomorrow. My baby is in bed now. Games about to start and I'm home for the day!
