I wonder if that engine serial number is attached to a present day car. or was this just a test mule used for the test?
Last digits could be part of a VIN....

Mike where did you get this dyno sheet? If this is representative of the HC engines it would appear that the rumor of Chrysler under-rating the HP by 25+HP is just rumor. If the HP was still climbing past 6,000 rpms then the 707HP factory rating at 6,000 would be about right on point.

Good find. And good point about power still climbing. I still say redline on this engine should be 6500.

When manufacturers post SAE numbers they use the minimum a certain engine will make. There are sublte differences from engine to engine. Some may make a little more than the rated number but none can make less (just ask Ford about the '99 Cobra). The 714 number is within the error factor.

This also debunks the "15% drivetrain loss" theory. With the numbers these cars a posting on the dyno, they may lose 10%.

Those are the SAE certification sheets that can be purchased for $50 a piece on sae.org.

Comparatively, the SAE sheets for the LT4 and V10 Viper engines are both overrated.

Unfortunately, they are single licensed, copyright products and can get the forum admins and licensee into legal issues for being posted publically :/

That's what I am doing framing it and putting it in the garage. $50 gets you the level 1 SAE report with the graph(2 pages) $1000 gets you the level 2 full report 5 pages. I went with the level 1 report:D I plan on never selling this car so it will be cool to have the SAE report on the wall above it in 30 years.
