Called car care USA right by my house and one of the managers said they never done a hellcat oil change before and said its just like any other challenger and I was like uh not really. It has like two boards or something you have to remove before you get access to the oil cap area.

He did say they would have to order a Mopar oil filter.

I asked about the oil and he said maybe Mobil One full synthetic as long as it's full synthetic oil it should be fine and I said well the dealership recommends pennzoil ultra platinum plus and he said does it have to be within oil warranty manufacturer specifications and I said yes the MS12336 Chrylser specification or something like that.

Man two out 3 questions answered correctly now I don't want to bring it to them anymore.

Why? Why ? Why? Would you trust a proformance machine to a quick lube franchise type place?
I've got to go 60 miles to do it, but found a SRT Cert dealership.. Has two techs trained on Hellcat. Made agreement with GM- only one is to touch my car, I work my maintenance around his schedule- too much invested(ok, spent) in this car not to..

^^^ ask the mrs, I'm not allowed to do anything mechanical by myself. Ha!
I did change a tire one time, haven't seen the hubcap since, and my "tire guy" kept cussing about I should use all the lug nuts next time. But in my defense it was kinda chilly that night

After the first time, it's easy.
I'll ask my Tech Buddy to post something in here about the procedure.

Dealer only for me.. I'm in houston as well. took my wifes golf TDI to auto check one time and they unscrewed the oil cooler. and thought it was the oil filter. lesson learned. But on the flip side the dealers have the same type of people doing the quick lubes. I took my buddy eco diesel jeep to a dealer here in town and over filled the thing, oil was everywhere when I hit the beltway. had to drain out over a quart. so I will be only having a technician do my oil changes.. thats it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a document showing all the steps with pictures if you are interested and feel like tackling this yourself. I also got the 041 SRT filter and the pennzoil ultra platinum pure 0-40W (6 qt) on amazon for around 60 altogether.

Remove bottom plastic pan, drain oil and replace filter., there is another cover on the passenger side that covers the oil cooler, remove that and take the drain plug out of the elbow coming off of the bottom of the oil cooler, replace drain plugs/covers, add 6.5 qts ot PUP040 and you're good to go
