    CNYHC,

I saw the Rolling Stones up in Montreal back in 2003. We had really good seats near the stage, and even then Keith Richards could have been a regular on the Walking Dead! LOL

What about Ozzie and Steve Tyler and Joe Perry. Steve Tyler and Joe Perry from Aerosmith used to be called the Toxic Twins

I loved the song Plush! Some well known performers such as Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix claimed they performed better when they were all fu-ked up!

R.I.P In your twenties and thirties you can get away with the drug and alcohol abuse, but if you don’t stop in your forties and fifties you are going to die. Most of the rock band members either stop all together or cut back substantially. They figure this out with a few trips to the hospital, DUIs or a near death experience.

Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Amy Winehouse were all members of the 27 Club. All died at the ripe old age of 27. What a waste of extraordinary talent!!

CNYHC....Keith Richards has "pickeled" himself. He died years ago but forgot to lie down and stop going through the motions.:D

I agree with the posts talking about "living hard" in your twenties and thirties. It's a shamed that they are all gone. I'm a fan of everyone
mentioned in this thread. I was enjoying STP Plush and Creep back to back in the cat yesterday after dropping my daughter off at school.
Love the HK sound system!!! I'll never listen to their music with the same mind set again but I'll still enjoy it.

    RIP Mr. Weiland:(

Don't wanna go out slow and easy, wanna slide in home plate, wam bam against the catcher, ball falling in air, crowd goes silient waiting for the call... Live while we can ladies/gentleman, live while we can. Respect! , and a nod to CA victims/families

Keith Richards will never die. He's preserved.

I haven't seen anything about whether Scott OD'd or what. Doesn't really matter, bummer either way.

You know, I'm 100% anti-drug, but I can't help but think some of our greatest songs would never exist if all were straight and clean. Some you listen to and go "he HAD to be high as a kite when he wrote that"

MoparProud....Good post and I hate to say it (I'm 100% drug free and anti drug) but some of the best music, not just songs but music and art
would not exist without "mind altering substances". It's too bad that it's at the expense of the health of the musicians.

Yes I worded that wrong, I meant music in general.

It's one of those things I've thought about sometimes; I mean, I don't know about you but I can't picture a nearly 70 year old Jimi Hendrix. But guys like Keith and Paul and Mick and Eric and Jimmy and Robert, ya know. Old age works for them. But an old Jimi or Kurt or Jim doesn't seem to work.

Although maybe that's because it DIDN'T work that it's hard to picture. If any of that makes sense? Worthless rambling, I know.
