I'm in San Diego and getting beat up from people lowballing me. Best offer yet is $31K. Also just got an offer from Carmax for $31K. Car is an auto that is loaded. Only missing option is the sunroof. Car has 17,000 miles and is pristine. KBB is $35,400. Should I take the money and run?

Is the 35k KBB upper end of wholesale? They will typically offer the bottom end of wholesale.

If you have the patience and time, put an ad on Autotrader (Craigslist if you are willing to deal with tire kickers) OR an ad on eBay.

$31k seems low, but if making another $2 to $3k means a lot...try to sell it yourself. The convenience of an easy sale is attractive.

    It's really your call. GL!

Post up some pics here....maybe someone who is tired of waiting will buy it here?

The best my friend did with a 2012 Yellow Jacket was $30K when he traded his in for his HC. He had 14K miles on it. Have you checked around to see how much the closest vehicle to yours is selling for?

As Spring and Summer come along, there are going to be more for sale as all of these HCs hit the Dealers. Have considered listing on eBay? 125 dollar flat fee. Sold mine on there.

$35K is the upper limit. It's on Autotrader and CL. This is how I'm getting hit up by dealers. I think the local market is around $33K. I'm shocked that the Yellow Jacket only brought $30K. Sell now and have no insurance, gas, or payment. Save that towards the Hellcat once it's here. Still in D status so I have time. The car isn't going to appreciate and I believe more will hit the open market soon.

A quick look at Carmax's SRT8 vehicles has a car like yours selling for around 37 to 38K. I just sold my Mustang there and saw it going for 5K more than what they gave me for it. However I had little time since my HC came in and I had to unload my ride. If you have time, selling it yourself looks like a better option. Read up on selling the car to make sure you don't suddenly get a bunch of tickets because the car is still titled in your name.

31k is not bad with mileage and year, I got 36 k for my 12 with 7800 miles with sunroof and 6M, they took on HC trade so I also saved sales tax.

I was lowballed at CarMax to.

The dealer gave me $4000 more than CarMax was going to...plus the tax advantage on the trade in value

Not sure how it works in your state but here when you trade a car to the dealer the value of the trade is exempt from sales tax. If you get that make sure you are taking it into account.

So if you buy a car for $60K and trade a car for $35K you pay sales tax on the difference of $25K rather than the $60K... Just want to make sure you are not forgetting that if your state works this way.

Sold it through USAA's used car buying program at $32K. I'll take it, no hassle and a decent price. Thanks for the assistance and suggestions!

sold my 2011 IE completely loaded (sticker was $49,970) with only 7,000 miles for $34k this winter on ebay
most offered $31k or less....took 6 weeks to sell

you have higher miles, less options, your sticker was less originally and you want the same as i got....i barely got it(i feel i got lucky)....i think $31k is spot on for your car(i will guess your sticker was $47k range)

KBB cant say your car is $35,400......it only said $35k for mine...again w/ less mile and more options

your car is only worth what someone will pay for it......problem you have (and i had) is someone can get a new RT392 for a few thousand more than your asking.....and it will have an 8 speed

if you got an offer for $31 id take it....each day its worth less and less

Just checked KBB on your car and you seem to be spot on for the value
