I ordered my Hellcat day one in Sept. from a dealer who said he had allocation for two or three cars. Last Wed he tells me he spoke to Dodge and he's not getting them it appears. I have a VON and POC but that's all. I put a new order in Dec 10th with another dealer but he tells me June or July. Have a felling they are going to cut off 2015's and I don't want a second model year collector car. Don't you think that Dodge would fill the Sept. orders first if they are going to build more of these? Calling Dodge to complain about the sudden change of story to the first dealer. #unhappy

It's not so much a first come/first serve basis it's all about the number of allocations your dealer has

A december order with a very volume dealer may be filled before yours as sad as it sounds

Your probably right but it's a crazy system. What ever happened to the SRT chief saying they are going to make as many as ordered? After initial allocations it should revert to filling the first orders in.

They will make as many as ordered but it will take the whole year to catch up that's for sure

Why is it the paying customer's responsibility to find a dealer with allocations? All the more reason to allow customers to order directly from the manufacturer. The only problems is all those salesmen on the street trying to make a living,, but happy customers

it would be nice to order directly then maybe finialize the deal with a local dealer? that might work.. it would be a nice option anyway.

How many more are like us with Sept orders and no VIN. I know Canada has their issues, but there can't be that many in the US like us , can there?

I ordered my Granite/Sepia HC from a Dealer in Ohio at MSRP because all of the Las Vegas dealers wanted +$20K over sticker. Got my VON next day and sat in BX status. When I spoke to my Dealer last Tuesday after the 2nd allocation was opened and found out I didn't make the 2nd allocation, he said maybe in February I would get a VIN and maybe get the car by summer. My salesman is a great guy but I had too many "maybes" being thrown at me. I gave up at that point and was thinking about buying something different but still fast.

Rewind about a month ago: I went on Edmunds and Cars.com and started spamming all of the dealers that showed a HC either in stock or on its way. These two sites show cars in the pipeline.

Back to the present: On Wednesday, as I was cursing Dodge for the way they handled the launch, I started shopping for Z06/07 Corvettes. On Thursday, out of the blue, I got a call from a small dealer in NY that I made email contact with last month off of Cars.com who just got a Phantom Black with Red/Black interior HC delivered. He asked me if I was still interested even though it would be about $4K over. I said yes, started the buying process over the phone and had the contracts Fed Ex'ed to me the same day. I am now arranging shipping for my HC and should have it in Vegas by the 2nd week in January.

Point of the story is Dodge screwed up this launch but if you are diligent, you can still find a HC out there. It may not be the exact car that you ordered but since most of them being built have all the goodies, stay flexible on the color and search everywhere. There are a lot of small dealers out there that have allocations but no buyers yet. It may not be in a major city but keep looking, the effort will pay off.
