When I picked up my new hellcat with 7 miles I noticed some white powder on the alternator and other similar unpainted parts. To me it looked like the car had over heated at one point but the plastic and painted part look fine.
    Should I be concerned.

That is corrosion, you need to detail your engine they all get like that from sitting around. Its really no big deal, get some type of "dressing" and start wiping. don't get any on the belts.
Make some time under your hood.

looks like aluminum oxide (oxidation of unprotected aluminum surface).

Cast aluminum oxidizes when out in the elements. Did your car sit in a yard before delivery. Its normal.

That is from sitting in the cold and salt. Dilute some CLR and wipe it but don't get it on the wiring. After that I would give it a squirt of some good penetrating oil but again not on the wiring. Wipe any harnesses with a cloth and a bit of penetrating oil on it. Too bad they sit outside and on the rail for so long. Mike

go spend an hour under your hood. I took a micro fiber towel and some silicone spray. Light spray the micro fiber and start wiping, it will look brand new. Plus you get to be under the hood of your car. watch your belt buckle. I am a conceal carry holder so I took my gun off so I would not scratch the car as I was leaning over the engine.

In middle of no where and inside my locked garage with my dog roaming around outside. My kids are grown and moved out so no worries about them touching my gun that was on the work bench.
you are right about the holster comment, bad things may happen once you take it out.

probably sat at Taylor yard, not to worry you got it home, just clean her up. mine sat at the black hood shop for 6 weeks and I had the same thing. showed it to a friend who is an engineer and he told me to clean it up asap.
