Just needed to give a shout out to my local police officers... I got pulled over today for the first time in my year plus of Hellcat ownership (barely a year lol). I got on it at a red light, he must have been on sitting on the cross traffic. I pulled over at night, interior lights on, window down and license and insurance in hand. He asked if I knew why he pulled me over, I said, "yes sir.. I got on it". He went and checked everything out and let me of with a warning saying, " I know you have a cool car and it's fast but it's loud and draws attention and this street has people walking down it so you have to be careful.". I said lots of "yes sir" "I understand sir". " thank you sir " comments and he let me off with a warning.

Just goes to show that cops are people too... I was fully ready to accept my consequences because I was driving too fast but he gave me a warning... Lesson learned and lesson noted.

Thats a great story. I'm glad you got a warning.

My friend driving a Hyundai Sonata 4 banger got a ticket for doing 95 in a 70. He showed me this ticket. This is the same friend that will not ride in the Hellcat because it's "unsafe" because of it's speed. Anyway, I berated him for driving at such dangerous speeds in a car that is clearly not designed for those speeds...

I got pulled over a little while ago for not having a front plate on my car. Officer was jealous because I got a $110 ticket.

Most officers are great people just doing their job. I was a LEO back in the 80s and I wrote a lot more warning tickets than tickets with fines...attitude played a big part in my decision...and the right attitude has gotten me out of several tickets over the years..

I know right, I thought he was joking too, then he sent me a picture of the ticket. I had no idea those 4 bangers could do that. It must have taken 6 miles to reach that speed.

Push those tin cans off a cliff, they'll hit 100 MPH, maybe more. I was about to criticize them for being made in Korea, but I bet they opened a plant up here in the States. Then I thought about it a bit more and realized, we're all interested in cars with Mexican engines, assembled in Canada, with most of the profits going to Italy. So much for an American muscle car.

The Officer used his discretion and cut you a break and issued you a warning which is exactly what I would have done if I was the Officer who encountered you. Now, keep in mind if there's a subsequent incident and I pull you over then you can rest assured that you'd be getting more than 1 ticket, lol!!! There's a place for spirited driving and it's not on a street shared with pedestrian traffic!!!

It always helps to be nice...and to be prepared.

Tho I have been told, that most LEOs prefer glazed (avoids getting powdered sugar on the uniform).

You must not be from Chicago, bribery is the language of the windy city. I believe100% of our alderman have gone or will go to jail for bribery, 2 of the last 4 governors went to jail for bribery.

Although, I am not familiar with any stories of police officers accepting bribes. (Well, discount the 80's and the mob hitman that was a Chicago cop.)

*** Do not take this as an insult to police officers, they have a very difficult job to do and they risk their lives for us.***
