I'm debating between getting side dumps or an electric cutout. Does anybody know from experience which would be louder? Both would be muffler bypasses for a more mean sound than the stock setup. I know having the supercharger they would cause a loss in power from the loss of back pressure, but both would have a button that could close them and revert back to the stock mufflers/exhaust for when I need the power. Can anybody list me some pros/cons they have from experience?

I say dump them at the rear axle, straight on the ground...deep, grumbling....that's how my current SRT8 is now, with old school 40 series flowmasters, before Delta Flow, and it sounds the way a muscle car should, deep, rumbley....run that way until you are going to race, then flip the switch and run it out the back...

How is the idle with your dumps at the rear axle?

Blake or rad cat,, have you heard how loud the hellcat is,, allot of people are very very happy with the sound,,I do like the dump idea, but I can't remember where the valve for the active exhaust is,,I think it's just past the axle heading out the back

My exhaust is getting louder as it breaks in. There is already a noticeable difference from day one to 500 miles. I started hearing and feeling a difference around 450 miles when things started setting up and breaking in. I am pretty happy with the exhaust. My co workers tell me they heard me coming so someone is always at the door waiting for me!;)

I took my Hellcat to my custom muffler shop yesterday. They are friends. They have done three of my vehicles (including my 2014 SRT8 which had the BORLA ATTAK exhaust system), as well as several of my friends vehicles and Harley's. They put it up on the rack and we took a look underneath. The mufflers in the very back are straight thru...I am not even sure why they are there at all. The 2 and 3/4 pipe comes clean thru out to the tip. That leaves the small resonators with the electronic baffle and the cat convertors which are small and high flow. Also the Hellcat has headers...or exhaust manifolds that are as close to headers as you are going to get. He told me there is nothing we could legally do that would pass inspection besides find higher flow cats.

Ask him what he'd do if you lived in a state without inspections? Get rid of the CATs completely, get rid of the valve (so it's open all the time)?

They are loud at WOT, but quiet at idle. I listened to the two at the Doge Rocks Gas Monkey Live event in Dallas on 11/1, drag race, side by side, 10ft (if that) away from me for 4 hours solid, non-stop. They were loud when racing, but when they'd turn around at the end and come back, you couldn't even hear them until they were right beside you and even then it was quiet...too quiet for me.

I am very impressed with the stock sound. It's really loud, I just want louder:D

Same here. Loud enough at wide open throttle (WOT), but I want it louder everywhere else. What can I say...I don't want to sneak up on anyone...I want them to hear and feel me coming...

I think someone is looking into the flip in the exhaust,, to control it manually

Haven't got mine yet..just a VON and a deposit. But I have ridden in one...in a drag race, listened to a pair of them racing for 4 hours back to back and seen several in person. I just know what I want mine to sound like. I've had lots of hot rods and I like them to sound a certain way...loud.

I was at Gas Monkey too. I never got to ride in the Hellcat...the wait was too long. But, I was front and center when the CRUE got out of their Hellcats that night. My new Hellcat sounds a little louder than the ones that day at start up and idle.
