I'm looking at a listing for a used 2016 challenger. The Carfax reports that the owner bought the car on 11/11/2015 put 3600 miles on it, then sold it on 1/6/2016.

It's being sold at a dealership and it's got all the options for 64k. I'm just weirded out that the owner only had it for a little more than a month and put almost 100 miles a day on it.

Best case scenario - they just didn't like it...but drove it a lot?
    Worst case scenario - ??????

If anyone has insight, i'd appreciate it.

1.Daily driver...didn't like the fuel economy.
2.Decided they didn't like the monthly mortgage payment.
    3.Insurance too high.
4.Went to a different brand of vehicle.
    5.Changed their mind.

It's under factory warranty...go look at it and make the decision...

    Almost 2 months.

Closer to 50 miles a day.

But more than likely, one or two road trips, and 30 miles a day.

Maybe he bought it and thinking he could get his wife's blessing afterwards. Easier to ask forgiveness than permission? Doesn't always work out....

Why is it sketchy? People drive their cars, so what. Guys wife may have gotten pregnant, couldve lost his job, possibilities are endless. Who really cares. I never understand why people are so quick to think the worst, especially when It has a full factory warranty. If its a deal buy it.

First 4 months I put on 7K miles (58 miles a day) as it was my daily driver.

As others have said-anything is possible when you are talking high end toys-if you think it's for you go get it-someone just threw you an opportunity...

Hello, and welcome to the forum. I agree with the others that posted before me ... I would go see the car in person, and unless I felt uncomfortable, I would go for it. The previous owner had the car for just shy of two months, and it is very easy to put that many miles on a car in that amount of time, in any of the situations already mentioned. Go check out the car in person, and please let us know what decision you make. I am excited for you ... I hope it works out! :)

Maybe the guy was rich enough to be able to trade his cars in when they need an oil change...

I bought my used. The previous owner bought the car Jan 15 and put 13,000 miles on by June 2015 i believe. Drove from MO to Georgia to SC and back to MO and then traded the car in. I have the 16,700 the car runs just fine. No regrets. About 1 year ago the market was completely different for this car. Almost all Hellcats were sold orders or had 5-10K in mark-up for 6 speeds. The only auto i could find was in Albany,NY used and i still paid dearly for the car.

Just make sure the car warranty is still intact (not blacklisted) and check it over for signs of major accident or mods.

countless used car and new car dealers are cashing in on the hellcat. as you can imagine, people who want to also do the same thing

drive it for a month or a few months and make $5-10,000 and get to drive and say you owned a hellcat, why not

By far, the most common reason that low mileage almost-new cars wind up for sale is because the owner suddenly has a financial hardship of one kind or another.
