took the HC out of storage and started to drive it today....had a slight sweet smell (antifreeze) inside the car.....went away after 5 mins of driving.....anyone else had this issue?

ill be taking it in for an oil change in a few weeks to Dr Buick.......he will find the issue im sure...

    just curious is im alone?

Could it be the radiator clamp everyone is talking about

I've had mine for 2 1/2 weeks, and since I have taken delivery, there will be a short period of a smell when the engine warms up. It has gotten lesser as time has gone on and I sometimes don't smell it at all now. No active leaks on the car. I've seen a previous post about antifreeze from the hose issue/fix causing a smell for quite a while, so not worried.

i drove my car home w/o the smell....i drove it to get the Xpel installed w/o the smell......also started it up a couple of times over the winter w/ no smell.....suddenly just today its there....kept my eye on the temp gauge and it was running cold if anything

when i hit 500 miles it goes in for an oil change and tire change.......ill have them look it over then.....ill survive for a few more hundred miles....no puddle under the car or anything like that.....

my guess is its something w/ the heater core since it started when i cranked up the heat by accident

Do you think it could have been the radiator clamp issue?

I experienced this same thing the other day. Only lasted about two minutes but was definitely my car and strong coolant smell. Checked all the gauges and under hood, found nothing wrong.

I have a 2011 SRT8 and I get that smell sometimes. Nothing has ever come of it though.

Check your upper radiator hose at the radiator connection. If you have only a spring clamp you need to add a worm drive clamp. There is a bulletin for this 'repair'. Apparently the spring clamps either don't have enough tension or they are the wrong size.

    See the attached TSB

I would add to check your carpeting under the dash for dampness. If it happens to be a leak at the heater core, may show up on the carpet.
