You must of shocked the driveline during that wheel hop. Game over. Better than breaking the diff or the trans. I don't think you should take it to the dealer...my 2 cents.

I was at the strip this last weekend. Couldn't get out of the 12's in my 6mt stock everything. Burned through 1st and 2nd on most runs. Was planning on some DRs but this has me re-thinking.
Where are you getting the car towed to? Would Chrysler cover this under warranty with drag radials on the car?

I think they only cover it under warranty if you got into the 10's. ;)

Sorry to hear about the break. Hopefully it gets sorted relatively easily. Keep us up to date.

Clearly, the rear wheel slip is designed in to the driveline to keep the DS from failing.

I'd get the dealer to replace the driveshaft, and then swap it out for one of the modified ones. Let us know what happens.

Ouch! Yep, we all know there's a possibility of this happening. Wheel hop is like a giant impact wrench on the driveline. I'd love to see what kind of torque is produced during the hopping if someone could figure out how to measure it!

This is why I ordered the drive shaft first. Then the drag radials.

I replaced the joke of a stock driveshaft with a DSS Aluminum before I got my drag radials just because of all of he things that I had read about them. It is a must, when you see the small size of the stock input shafts you will understand how they are not designed to handle any power. In my opinion a big design flaw. You will love your DSS shaft. Ran a 10.99 right after I made the switch with the shaft and drag radials. Good Luck.

The dealer should fix it. I asked my sales guy if the would cover it and he said yes. But then again he's not the service manager. Good luck. I guess the MT are sticky!
