I ordered from local dealer back in oct. Never got built do bought another one in FL. so my $1000 deposit is refundable. Do I ask for it back now or hope I get a 2016 and then flip it? Will the demand still be there to turn a profit after paying $70k out the door? Your thoughts? Thanks

Is $70k out the door at MSRP or is there an ADM you're paying? If ADM, I would just get the $1000 deposit back. If MSRP, you might be able to flip it for a few thousand over MSRP within the next 6 months.

I'd get the money. I think it's hard to flip a new car. You buy it, pay sales tax, probably insurance for a while and depending on where you live possibly property tax.

Even if it's just sales tax you added a big chunk that you need to recoupe. Also I think people are less inclined to purchase from a private party. There are almost new cars for sale here (why somebody buys a 70K car that they aren't sure they want is beyond me but that's another topic) for months and they don't move.

I'd find one from a dealer before buying one from somebody with some story that is probably half BS.

    Get the 2016 flip it.
Idiots will pay. I sold my extra Hellcat no problem.
I ordered 2 both from different dealers.
Kept one sold the other easy.

6 say get deposit, 1 says flip it. Thing is, who knows if my original order ever will get built and if it does maybe it's in middle of winter. I think I'll get my deposit back.

I don't think there will be enough meat left on the bone to justify the risk. Good call getting your deposit back.

Put the 2015 up for sale as soon as the 2016 goes D status, gives you a two month cushion to sell it. The one you ordered at your local dealer was ordered with the options you really wanted. People are getting 79K for used HC's.
