So you can't floor a M6 in 1st or 2nd Gear? How's that fun?

Putting the power down. Yes, we know the A8 does it better. But in what gear can you actually just GUN IT with the M6? I keep hearing 1st and 2nd gear melt the tires.

Off the line, it sounds like the M6 will lose to cars with A LOT less power because of traction issues. My brother's got a Scat Pack Charger that hooks up and hauls ass...I'm worried he's gonna jump on me and I'll just sit there and spin.

I'll say this...I'm getting the M6 because I want a more engaging ride and honestly, gunning it off the line is a surefire way to break any car...I'm more about rolling races when I want to test speed.

So when can I just floor this car?

I floor mine in first and second all the time. With thew traction control off and in track mode. Only way I drive the car. If you rev it to 2000 and sidestep the clutch you'll melt the tires, but I have been able to let the clutch out and jump on it and she'll go. I have yet for it to come around on me, and the car will move. Smooth..........

Tires make all the difference in the world. Mickey drag radials for the street, Hoosier slicks for the track.

I'd be very upset if I could just floor it and not spin the tires...this is a 707 hp beast, you can't possibly think that you could just floor it and take off. I have an A8...I floor it all the time, but I do so with the purpose of spinning the tires. It's fun.

If you want to launch hard, then you will just have to take your time, practice a ton and get a feel for her. If you want a car where you can just put your foot to the floor and let it do everything, then I'd look into a Tesla with that AWD.

I can floor my m6 in any gear and not blow the tires off. Spinning ain't winning. Thats what makes this car special is that u can punch it and it doesn't break loose. It does a pretty damn good job of getting the power to the ground. Yes we all agree we need wider tires but all things considered it does a good job. It sounds like you are how i use to be. Wanting that violent hard shifting scare the crap out of you scary fast feel. You won't get that violence with the stick. I believe the autos are more like that. Hit you hard. The sticks more of a hard pull not a violent slam. These m6 cars are smooooooth like they said above.

Spinning the tires is easy with the traction control off.
The really fun thing is to know when the tires are just about to spin, and feather the throttle just enough to maximize traction. That's the point at which there is maximum adhesion and therefore maximum acceleration.
I have just enjoyed getting to progressively learn the performance envelope of this awesome car, and making it "dance" - in any gear. I'm not done yet!

But you can clearly smoke the tires in first, second, and a little of third, anytime!

dude if your racing then you want traction and flooring it will defeat that purpose.

my advise start in first gear quickly shift to second once the car is set floor it and let the performance of the car pull you past your Scat Pack bro.......easy win

you can floor it in first and second gears...believe me it is fun.

My dad has a scat pack charger. Runs 12.8 all day everyday. He never raced before. With my stock all seasons i was 12.5 sometimes 12.3. I did drag radials and was down to 12.0 now with my slicks i run 11.6 and i know i can do better. If ur not gunna race it at a track get some good nittos and you will have no problem with ur brothers scat pack

Any car with 700 hp will have that "problem". Funny, it seems that with all the technology now, some have forgotten what raw unregulated power is in a vehicle. I could make the same statement you do about my 440+6 4spd car that only has about 400 factory hp and no traction control...

    lolwut?

I think you got a different car than the rest of us.

Mine breaks loose if I floor it. Hell, if I give it half throttle or more it breaks loose.

And if you're flooring it in 1st or 2nd, you are absolutely spinning the tires. No way not to.
