My crappy underpowered radio lives on 38 volume. Yea it's not near loud enough but I'm not dropping 5k on a new sound system. But I think I figured out why the car doesn't have more amp in it. The speakers can't handle it. I have a couple new speakers ordered under warranty since they have cracked and now just rattle and vibrate. That sound is unmistakable. Makes the radio virtually unlistenable.

Anyone else had speakers replaced under warranty? Scared the hell out of me to have a tech pulling the interior panelling off to replace the rear tweeters. Uggggh.

The dealer service rep said the other day to me, "this car spends more time here in the shop than it does on the road!"

Wonder if chargers/challengers have the same amps/speakers? Anybody know?

How do you tell if a speaker has cracked? I cranked the volume way up in mine once or twice just to see how loud it got... since then, certain bass notes seems to rattle when I never heard that before... but maybe I just didn't hear songs at volume levels that caused it.

There is no mistaking a cracked speaker. It's almost unlistenable even at lower volumes.

Mine is blown too. HK system rear drivers side speaker and like everyone else mentioned, virtually un-listenable. I have yet to take it... It drives me bonkers.

Hmm... did a test today at all 4 corners with specific frequencies. Only thing I noticed is that when the rear right deck seems to rattle a lot more than the left. It's the entire rear deck piece doing it because when I hold down on it, the rattling stops. I think it's from the subwoofer.

Any fix for that or is that just how it is with a sub under the poorly secured rear deck piece?B

My right rear speaker is cracked and one of the front ones might be cracked, and the rear deck rattles a lot. I wonder how long does it take to get this fixed? what can be done if it keeps happening?

Why don't you just replace the speakers with aftermarket speakers? Stock speakers are junk. I changed out my rear deck speakers, added a sub in the deck and changed out the 2 dash speakers. Pretty simple actually and sounds much better. You can do those for less than $300.
