I noticed over the past couple of months that my hellcat has a buzz or static sound from the passenger side speakers (Front or door can't nail it down). It's only when songs hit a certain loudness (lack of a better word) and is faint or when just instruments are playing its the only thing you hear.

Anyone else have the same issue? Going to the dealer no matter what for it but wondering what the response was from your dealer or FCA

Some people been having a problem with the radio and they go on in and get it updated and they say it's a lot better so hopefully they can update it for you

I've gotten that update which did improve sound quality, I do believe im leading to a blown speaker

Those little tweeters in the rear quarter panel are known to blow. My 392 had to be replaced almost immediately. Get the update first but I think you're looking at a speaker

One thing it could be is a lose screw for the front speaker (in front of the pillar; in the dash).

This was a problem especially when it gets cold. Some had it fixed/tightened down at the dealership so long as it's not a bad speaker. Others just did a self fix by adding a rubber washer between the screw. The speakers are accessible by removing the top portion of the dash with a plastic pry tool.

Just had mine in(2016 HC)at the dealer, same problem!! They checked it and could not duplicate the noise, and no updates for my 16!! Mine Is more noticeable on cold mornings! Guess I'll be going round and round with them.. They did get my hood adjusted well!!

When my rear quarter speaker was blown, I wanted a simple method to show the tech at the dealer the blown speaker so this is the method I used.

    1. I downloaded a frequency generator app to my phone.

    2. Started the app in my car and connected with Bluetooth.

    3. Play different frequencies at increasing volumes until you hear the buzz. The frequency that made my blown speaker obvious was 160Hz.

    4. Have the dealer tech sit in the car with you, play the frequency and then use the pan control to show him that one side plays the frequency clearly and the other side buzzes.
