Just FYI, Here is a link to a web site that will make spray paint to your factory color. I have had many cans made and they do a great job. So if you want to touch-up wheel wells or paint emblems or other small jobs you can get the factory color in spray form. Also some Napa stores can do the same thing. Here is the link.

Thanks, very cool. They even list the color for my 1970 Challenger.

Thanks Jim, very useful information. Had no idea Napa did the same thing. Apparently you must think this is better than going to the dealer to get a touch up paint bottle.

Steve I have used there spray paint on some chassis parts on my 68 Road Runner and it matches perfect. 440 Superbee, I like spray paint for some areas you need to fix, its better than to brush but not always. Tammie was saying she wants to paint her grille emblem this is what she needs just remove from car tape of blacke and spray the chrome much smoother than a brush

If your local Napa/UAP has a paint mixing dept, they are also quite capable of mixing up rattle cans as well. Have done it many times.

We have 2 auto paint/supply stores even in out small city and both can mix any paint code in a spray can. Even for brush touchup, I just spray a little from the can in small container and stir it until it evaporates to the right consistency. However for rock chips and road rash, I tried the Dr Colorchip kit and it wins hands down. It is not as good for scratches though.

One thing to note when you're getting touch-up from any source is what type of paint you're getting. The pre-packaged tubes you get at a dealer or local auto parts store (all produced by Dupli-Color) are lacquer; most of the auto body distributors that mix paint are giving you acrylic enamel.

You'll need to know what you're working with in case you need to remove the touch-ups later on down the road, or if you need to thin your paint. Each type reacts differently to solvent exposure.

^^^ True. My auto body distributor spray cans are now acrylic enamel, they used to be lacquer.
