Well, I guess we all now know why steering wheels are not made out of plastic now. It's because they feel like shit.

I could almost deal with this horrible error if it weren't for the joint you can't help but feel every time you grip the flat part of the wheel. The rest of the wheel is flawless. Why would you not wrap the entire wheel in leather?

I just can't believe however many people felt that Fing wheel and didn't stop that during the design phase.

Whoever is responsible for the plastic Hellcat steering wheel should be fired.

I don't think there is a problem, but I agree, the hole thing should of been wrapped.. But you have to admit, that steering wheel feels perfect in your hands,, it's like it's meant just for you,, that's one of the first things I liked about the first time I sat in the car,, well besides the amazing cold start...love that car

I love everything about the car. The wheel is so fing close to being perfect and the best wheel by far I've laid my hands on. But I just can't understand why the hell they did the plastic part on the grip. Makes zero sense to me. There is absolutely nothing else with the car that I don't totally love. And I can live with the plastic wheel no problem. Just makes no sense.

Maybe they were trying to evoke memories of childhood big wheel abuse or something.

I want to assume they did that so you know in your perpherial vision on a road track that is the bottom of the steering wheel. Wrapping it in leather and keeping it flat would be the same affect.

Who knows, if it was them cheaping out we will never get a direct answer. That plastic seam line though lol

Having the paddles mounted in 1 place instead of attached to the wheel would have been nice too. That way you can shift when turning.

I can't remember, but I believe my 2012 SRT-8 Charger lower steering wheel part was metal and not plastic. It do remember in the sun it got HOT as heck. So I am wondering if it cant be replaced with the bottom part of the SRT-8 wheel. I don't like the plastic either. Something I am now going to look into doing after confirming the MY 12 was metal.

Best feeling wheel I have ever felt...but I also wish they would have covered it. And heated it while they were at it.

Some enterprising folks could probably make a TOP QUALITY matching leather "wrap" that I might be tempted to try :)

According to my '16 invoice, the wheel is heated. Is the sheet lying to me?
