One of the cars at the SRT Challenge I attended last year had a weird, clunky brake pedal. The guys said they were aware of it and their mechanic team had replaced everything, but couldn't fix it.

My HC just started doing the same thing. Every once in awhile the pedal sticks slightly as I start to press it. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to overcome the "stick", but it does throw you off a bit when it happens. It's also pretty annoying.

There's no squeak or other sound when it happens. I need to watch it a bit more to see if it only happens when the brakes are warm or cold.

    Anyone experience this? Any ideas?

air in the brake lines? if it were me i would start with brake system physical components, process of elimination then move to the ECM components..

Wouldn't air just make the pedal spongy? I figure it's probably something with the linkage or master cylinder, but want to see if anyone's run into this yet.

It seems to do it randomly and all brake temps. It only happens about 1 out of every 10 times I push the pedal and doesn't do it at all if I sit still repeatedly pushing the pedal. Weird indeed! I was hoping someone else has seen this problem since it's my 2nd time to see it.

Did you ever get this resolved?

If it's not something in the pedal linkage itself, it almost sounds like a seal is folded or ripped and getting caught in the M/C or the pistons.

Even worse a sticking valve in the abs block

Never got it resolved since the dealer just says CND on anything they can. Luckily it's pretty much gone away over time. I'm betting on the dragging seal idea. That's what it feels like. No biggie, just an annoying feeling.

I've felt this in other vehicles but not either Challenger I have owned. I just attributed it to take up in the linkage before it engaged the booster but I didn't investigate it. It never seemed to get worse or actually cause a problem.

I would keep monitoring it and since you have it documented already that is important
Don't give up if you feel there is something wrong
