    Hey guys.
I'm in Costa Rica and went to get my emissions approved to be able to get license plates. However, 96dB is the max. you can have and the Cat was giving 101dB. The exhaust is completely stock, just like the car, and on Edmunds it said a Hellcat screams 85dB at full throttle. I was getting 80dB at IDLE!

So I'd like to know how they should measure the Decibels the proper way and how the factory got 85dB... Is there an official Dodge letter/document stating the dB levels from the factory?

Please help me out, otherwise cops can take my car for not having the necessary paperwork.
Oh and yeah, I got denied plates too because of my tires, tried to tell them it was a high performance tire, but in reality I just burned it all off... hahaha

You didn't do the exhaust valve bypass/delete on your car did you? At idle, with the valves closed, it really isn't that loud.

Did you try slipping a couple hundred dollar bills to the inspector, it's Costa Rica after all.

It's supposed to be bone stock but it is loud on start up and idle. Good point....
Will double check with the previous owner!
