i talked with a dealer about an hour from me and he is willing to do MSRP for the charger HC. It is pretty much baseline model. My question is this. How is the stock stereo? It does not have the Karmon Kardon stereo. Stereo is important to me but does it make it a bad stereo because it is not the Harmon Kardon? I don't want to drive up there just to find out its crap. Input is appreciated!

There are threads on this. Take the stock stereo and do not look back. There are lots of problems with the HK. I have the stocker, and it sounds fantastic! Someone one said "Best $2k I never spent."

They won't let you do hell. Has to be a 3 for it. I ordered that plate like 6 months before I got the car. I sense reordered it with the panther plate. Looks awesome.

to stay on topic with this thread, i think the Hellcat sound system is amazing, stock or otherwise.. i have seen different opinions here, but i think Dodge did a wonderful job of really decking this car out with goodies! i have the harmon kardon box in the trunk and it is a amazing sounding system. either way you cannot go wrong imho (i am pretty sure i got the stock system but maybe not)

I wish the HK system had a separate volume control for the sub woofer. It doesn't seem to be balanced very good. I would save the 2k and get the stock unit.

Guys thanks for the feedback it was monumental for making my decision. There is a 2016 pitch black charger HC with matte black rims w/ red interior in my garage now. I could not be more stoked! The stock sounds fine. I have no idea what I am going to do with all the time I used to spend obsessing over this car?

I'm entirely content with the stock stereo. I debated ordering the HK stereo and decided against it based on the hit or miss feedback. I thought the stock stereo would be very lack luster but again, I'm very pleased with the performance.

I've done that, doesn't work that good for me. Maybe it's all the years to listening to Bose in my Cadillacs but I really like the neutralness of a Bose system

it is loud, but i have to admit i love the bass and the box in the back. i think Dodge was aces with this. i could not be happier with this car. i know my neighbors think i am nuts because i just stare, at my own car.. lol
maybe you could just unplug the box or subs? i am not sure if this is a logical suggestion or not, but if it bothers you maybe its an option? also do you have your engine volume/stereo volume setting set? as in when you go accelerate the radio turns up? maybe if you turned that feature off?
