The local dealership has had 2, 2014 vipers for the past 18 months and they were getting desperate to move them. I live in a relatively small city which does not have a lot of people that will just walk into a dealership and buy a viper. On July 23 my VON for the hellcat turned exactly a year old. I did order through a small town dealership so was not surprised this happened but I was also holding out hope after Tim's comments that all orders would be built. So after reflecting on my year old VON I though I would go to this city dealer and inquire about placing an order with them for a 2016 and hopefully better my odds for next year.

I kinda needed a challenger because I need the back seat, sort of lol. We have a 14 year old daughter that absolutely loves cars. She always attends cars and coffee and weekend cruise with the wife and myself. Last year on one of the cruises she had the opportunity to ride in a Voodoo ACR viper (absolutely crazy car) for the day. She fell in love and told me that the viper was her dream car and that one day she would buy one. This really made me feel awesome as the viper has been my dream car since 1994 when they came out. I too always told myself that I would eventually own one. Well, Saturday became the day that I officially became a Viper Owner!!

Last Thurs I went into the city dealership to talk about placing an order for 2016 Hellcat. Once our meeting was done I casually said "maybe instead of ordering a Hellcat you guys should make me a crazy deal on this Viper sitting in your show room." Lol, this is when it got very interesting. The sales manager told me to hold on as he wanted to get the general manager. They both came into the office and asked me what they need to do for me to drive out with the Viper. I laughed and through out a ridiculous number which was $40,000 CDN below the MSRP. After some haggling back and forth (which really wasn't much because I did not back down from my first offer as like a mentioned it needed to be a crazy deal because I would prefer a back seat) they agreed to the terms. I was kinda in shock as I was not fully expecting this, lol. I took the night to think about it and called Friday afternoon and told them it was a deal but they needed to changed the oil as it had been sitting there for 18 months. They said it would be ready Saturday morning.

Friday night we took one last cruise in Barney (plum crazy SRT challenger) and my daughter and wife were pretty sad as Barney was our first cool car that we did a lot of cruising and had some great memories in. I am not going to lie there were some tears from all three of us. But those were well forgotten come Saturday morning. The deal was good enough though that if I regret the purchase I can easily flip it and get back into a Hellcat Challenger once they are easier to get.

The Viper I ended up purchasing is a base srt but had quite a few options (I think this is why it was such a tough sell). It has the exterior and interior carbon fiber upgrade, track pack wheels and tires, Aero package, stripes, leather seat upgrade, and the Harmon Kardon upgraded stereo. Venom Black with Bright White stripes.

I must say it is one of the best feelings to finally realize a dream that I have for so long. Without any further ado here are some pics!

That is so cool. I love the color and stripe!

I did the same thing in 1996, Found a Black with silver stripes RT/10 on a show room floor. Was going to purchase a Ram 3500 to haul my 70 Cuda

and was joking with the salesman, next thing I know I am a Viper owner. I got a huge, huge deal, I had to trade my wife's Lexus so she had to drive the Ram around but so what.

Back in the day I ran the car at GLD and National Trails ( Mopar nationals)
could not break 12 but ran very low 12s at 124 MPH. Kept it stock.

stay safe its a fast car, and won't get away from you but if it does it does in a big way!

I agree its a whole different animal. At least the new ones have traction and stability control to help limit that.

your no fun, traction control??? I got stuck in the rain one time on the freeway, I doubt I could go over 40 MPH in the downpour, felt like I was on ice. Plus the old snap in windows did not keep the water out.

You may have to change out your parking spot. The sign specifically says "PLMCRZY PARKING ONLY"

Gorgeous, congrats! I'm glad you got a great deal on one! They had one in the dealer showroom where I got my car for a long time…TA…went from 130k down to about 100k because it wouldn't sell.

Lol, I know. Also, have to get a new plate. Daughter was pretty sad cause she really liked the purple. Toying around with the idea of changing the stripes to plum crazy. Then the plate and sign can stay.

They sold the white one last week to another guy in our car group. They have one more in the show room but it is part of a lottery so it is not for sale.

Very Nice! Vipers rock. Have not had the pleasure of driving the newest gen. I'm sure it is a bit different than the versions I've had the privilege of owning in the past.

Enjoy in good health. Your family sounds like a real "Car Family". You are fortunate to have such enthusiasm around you at home!!!

By the way, that ladder and those metal framed whatevertheyare hanging near your car are freaking me out! It's going to give me nightmares tonight worrying about your new Viper  Please move them for me!
