or for all seasons too..Mine are the summer tires.

Just wondering what the proper inflation for these Pirellis should be, the door sticker says 32, but I think that would be for standard tires. Mine are around 35 right now. I'm thinking 33-35 PSI cold. Couldn't find anything about it on the Pirelli site.

What's the max psi? I know in LEDT (law enforcement driver training) they tell you to run tires at max psi for best handling and least chance of rolling the bead off if while in pursuit. I'd just make sure to check the wear pattern to ensure you aren't just wearing the center section from over-inflation. But max psi shouldn't be over-inflated. You also get better MPG from a max psi tire. I'd have nitrogen put in. I run it in all my vehicles, then you don't have to jack with air pressures from varying temperatures.

I'll have to check. How much do they charge you for nitrogen? Does it last, and how often would you say you have to top off?

Price varies from free/fairly cheap to $10/tire. Unless you have a leak, you shouldn't ever have to top it off. It isn't affected by differences in temp like regular air is so it always keeps the same pressure whether it's 110 or 5 degrees outside.

I didn't know that. I'll have to check that out. Normally where can you get nitrogen from? Auto shops? Garages?

If you decide to use the max psi pholosphy and don't use Nitrogen, you will always typically increase psi by 2psi once the tires are ran and heat up. Then tie in the outside air temp, and you will have to monitor tire psi. Good thing about living in Cali is the temps don't typically fluctuate to extreme like other states like WI winters compared to WI summers, etc.

Any decent tire/wheel shop will have it and some nicer Mechanics/Garage/Maintenance type places. You may have to go to the 'city' if you live in a rural area.

I run 38 PSI in my tires but I always run more pressure in my vehicles

The advantage of nitrogen is it will fluctuate less then air but it still will change slightly depending on the outdoor temperature. Nitrogen molecules are bigger then air, therefor less chance of seepage from the tire. Also the inside of the tire dose not build up condensation like air.
Nascar uses it so they have less fluctuation on air pressures.

I can't speak from personal experience but I have heard that Costco will replace the air in your tires with nitrogen for free if you are a member. Can anyone confirm this?

My Summer tires fluctuate approximately 4 PSI on a 50° day

Max pressure on sidewall is fine. Tire pressure may increase 10% during highway driving. NEVER reduce heat induced pressure increases. Changing door placard pressures, if there are front/rear bias pressures can alter handling. Dramatically.

If you want nitrogen filled tires, take your car back to the dealer, they have it there, probably will do it for free,, they did mine for free when I got my oil changed

I think it's questionable for street use. Normal air is already 78% nitrogen, after all. I doubt it makes any difference except in competition driving situations.
