Those are your cooling fans if the engine is off. Mine usually carry on for 1-2 seconds after I kill the engine.

Cooling fans kick off if I'm hitting 219 up to 222 on or off when parked.

And we wouldn't ask for help if dealers had any info but our dealer we purchased from has not done any work on hellcats
Dealer told him 2 weeks for car to be able to be dropped off and since winter is coming trying to drive car as much as possible
    Ron
And main question he should ask forum is if it is a bearing and it lets loose will it blow anything up other then supercharger

Don't start it if you really think you have a bad bearing get it towed in.

but to my knowledge the supercharger stops instantly when the motor does. I don't think there is any rotation at all. hmmm

superchargers do not spin on their own. Hard to see how a bearing would make a winding noise if its not spinning

I believe the supercharger has an overrunning clutch which allows it to freewheel when the engine speed decreases. Don't have mine yet but from what I read I would expect the supercharger to wind down.

Your correct there is a one way clutch. The SC has a lot of mass it spins at 2.36 times (stock) of engine rpm. It allows the SC to slow down slower than the engine, and prevents the SC from rotating the engine during rapid rpm reduction. That said I never hear mine make any real noise going from e.g. idle to key off, so I'd be leery if that changed abruptly.

Wondering if there has been any resolution from the OP?

My S/C continues to have a whirring sound at idle that becomes more noticeable when ignition off for a few seconds as it winds down. It is audible at idle but, for obvious reasons, not while driving.

The best way to describe the sound is that is sounds like a remote control toy motor. I don't remember hearing it during the first 3K/ 6 months, but it hasn't gotten worse over the last 2 months.

Using the stethoscope, I've localized the sound to the supercharger belt/pulley at the front - maybe snout bearing?

    Thanks
