Longtime ChallengerTalk member looking to trade the Chally RT in for a Charger Hellcat. Need four doors these days, and MORE POWER!

Anyway, there's my perfect car with all the options I want available except doesn't have leather seats. Regardless of how I get them, how big a job is it to fully swap out front and rear seats with a leather set? I'm assuming wiring and jazz for ventilation and whatever are the same, so no problems there, right?

I've seen where people have changed out seats and swapped with each other, but can't find any info on how big a job it is...

    Thanks!

Even the base seats have leather, and are very nice. The 'cheap' seats are Nappa leather, with alcantara (very nice synthetic suede), while the expensive upgrade seats are solid Laguna leather with no suede-like inserts. I like both, but I don't prefer the costly ones, and I love the two-tone effect you can get with the red/black nappa choice. My car is now six months old, and you can still smell the lovely Nappa leather fragrance each time you get in.

Is the alcantara always picking up lint and stuff though? Kinda thought it would just be easier to keep the leather looking nice.
I dig the red inserts too, but prefer the tan leather look inside grey car.

Nope, the alcantara still looks like brand new, after six months of use, it's not picking up lint or showing any signs of wear. I get loads of compliments about the interior, it looks much racier than the solid black or solid 'sepia' tan laguna, I am thrilled I didn't spend the money to 'upgrade' to the Laguna seats.

Red and black looks sweet, why change?

Hello Boogie, and welcome to the forum! Grtz on the HellCat!

I had the leather seats in my first Challenger, a 2009 SRT8, and I had the alcantara seats in my 2nd Challenger, a 2013 392. I preferred the alcantara over the leather ... so much so, in fact, that I ordered the alcantara seats in my HellCat without a moment's hesitation. You do what is best for you, but for me and my tastes, I did not think the upgraded leather was worth the price.

As long as you're not hauling sheep or other barn yard type animals around, you ought to be ok!

I am also a fan of the alcantara inserts. Keeps your ass planted firmly in the seat when you hit the gas. My Tahoe (daily driver) has leather and my ass is all over the place in those.

Alcantra will look a whole lot better than the premium leather after a year or two
