The alignment of my tail lights are starting to wear on me. I tried to research a DIY fix and read about adjusting the trunk bump stops but that didn't work. So, I stopped by the dealer the other day and they said it was going to take a half day at the body shop to fix. Anyone else have this issue and is there another DIY fix that I could try? I don't trust the dealer since the service advisor questioned if the car was mine (I'm 40 y/o) and then added that I should have got the charger instead, lol. image.png

supposedly, the outside lights are adjustable. you can sneak your hand flat, in between the trunk wall and the fiber trim panel and find the studs, then slightly unscrew the plastic nuts on the studs while pressing up on the light from the outside. there is a lil bit of wiggle room where they can be better aligned. havent done this myself but its on the list.

yup! thats how I fixed mine. And if the trunk needs to be lowered, dont forget to raise the latch in the trunk lid a little if it can because the bump stops by themselves wont do it all if the latch is set too low

Looks like you need to bring the trunk lid down as well. Open the trunk and screw the little black bumpers down (left to right). Do both sides together. That should help. Good luck.

Most tail lights get out of line because of people closing the trunk lid using the center sections

So the actual latch can be lowered? I've already turned the bump stops all the way down and the trunk still doesn't line up flush.

Anyone have specifics on how to adjust the latch itself?

the latch on the actual trunk lid is bolted down by two bolts on each side, under the trim panel thing (see arrows in my pic below). you can get a small amount of vertical trunk lid adjustment by losening those bolts and pushing the latch mechanism 'up' and retightening the bolts. go in small increments to get the fit you need.
