I too have black snot spewing out upon starting my cold cat. I have seen this in a thread before, and was wondering if anyone got a definitive answer as to cause. As well as an "All clear" call from a trained tech? Thanks in advance! Kinda gross!

I'm an ASE Certified Master Tech and own Piston Pete's Automotive LLC in Lakeville.
I work on a ton of Mopars and my Hellcat does the same thing.
It's normal with our frigid MN weather and the almost straight through exhaust system.

Yeah, it scared me the first few times and I put paper towels up to capture it....black soot and water...no antifreeze.

Well, here in Sunny and Warm California, The same thing happens on cold starts. So I don't think weather has much to do with it. That is in a warm garage too.

No worries, it will lessen as you put more miles on it. Mine still does it on cold starts but nothing like the first few days. The worst is waiting for the exhaust to 'burn off' the horrible smell when brand new.

That's really interesting...not that I looked for it, but I don't remember any exhaust moisture on my 392s...only in the cold.

Yeah but that is also the best smell because its new and a Hellcat. My car seemed to do it once so far the black and some condensation. But I only have 200 miles so I will see if it dose it more.
