Ok , we seemed to agree on a rematch date , but the Tesla wants me to run the Pirrellis because they are OEM and he feels all the auto blogs can do a better comparison of the cars ! Now I explained that these cars are apples and oranges , two very different cars with about the same horsepower ! A 70K car as opposed to a $130K car , AWD vs. RWD , electric and gas ! What is there to really compare , it's just about 2 cars and 2 people who love them , seeing who can get down the track faster! I seem to feel that running the Nitto's that are DOT certified and street legal as my everyday tires and on the stock rims and requiring no modifications to the car , is just a better replacement tire than the Pirrelis I shredded up ! The Tesla will have everything done to maximize its potential , why shouldn't I be able to present what the Hellcat is fully capable of doing ! Just looking for some opinions on this !

    Thanks Johnny

Ask him to disconnect the front wheel motors so that it's a two wheel vs. two wheel event. That should shut him up. Don't race him without the DR's.

Dude, seriously... He is in an AWD car. What an ass. Tell him to put drag radials on his car if he wants LOL... I would tell him you are running with drag radials PERIOD.

    Go spank his ass.

Tell him they are DOT approved for highway use and are your everyday tire.

When he knew he had the advantage, he called you out and made a big deal about it. Now he wants to makes excuses, unlike you who stepped up last time without a fuss.

If he doesn't want to race with the Nittos on there, ask him to tell you he refuses..and that will be the story.

Cowardly....and completely expected. He knows you're faster and is trying to handicap you. Just like he knew you weren't ready or serious about racing him the first time. Put a fork in him he's done, he's got nothing on you now and he knows it.

JohnnyHellcat - Agree with other forum member comments above and your assessment as well. Nitto DR's are DOT approved and street legal. No different than having Pirrellis, Michelins, or any other brand tire on the car for that matter. He needs to re-race and accept that the tires are DOT approved Street Legal tires. You didn't get to choose last time what he had and didn't have, now its time to Man Up!

Edit - Now I agree with comments above and below mine. :D

Those are your everyday tires!! Tell him if he's scared he can back out.
    DO NOT CHANGE YOUR TIRES

I agree with the others. He is looking for excuses. if he wants to make this 'fair' tell him to put whatever goddamned tires he wants on his car. And convert it to 2WD.

    What a vaj

I also mentioned about the flat bedding of the Tesla to the track , only full on drag cars are usually trailered to the track! I'll be driving the Hellcat in Eco mode raking in 22 mpg's!

Next he'll be saying you need to use the black key so his battery powered toy doesn't get stomped by a 4300+ pound RWD car

Street car vs street car. You are on DOT tires. He is making excuses.

I knew it...he sure didn't have ANY problems calling you out with NEVER having run the car down a track.

    What a tool.

I wish I could afford to send you two new rear tires/rims just to have them so you can beat him twice.

Keep the Nittos... It's completely fair. If he wants to make excuses for his loss beforehand and blame your DOT-approved radials, that's his problem. The idea is to show him what the Hellcat can REALLY do. Let him know he's free to run whatever DOT-approved radials he wants as well! ;)

He's screwed and he knows it!
