Had my first oil change today. The owners manual says it takes 7.5 quarts....WRONG!!!! It only takes 6 quarts. Dealer Connect had a training video for Master Techs showing the correct way to change the engine's oil. When doing an oil change....you only need six new quarts. Used Royal Purple 0W40.

Does that include changing the oil in the cooler. I understand it has a separate drain plug.

YES. Drained it also. As far as I understand. When someones says oil cooler to me..I think of another radiator to cool...like a transmission cooler or power steering. I will triple check.

I recall someone here stating the online .pdf file read six and the printed manuals reads 7.5.

I got my car 2 days ago and there was addendums that I believe addressed that and 2 other issues. I haven't looked through all of the changes. So others may want to ask for these addendum from their dealers. One of them address' oil volume another is for spark plugs and fuses.

Yeah...hit the 700 mile mark actually. Wanted to get the factory Pennzoil outta there and Royal Purple in. The tech showed the oil(I watched them behind the looking glass) and believe it or not, the oil was fairly dark..just like high mileage motor oil. Higher zinc content and higher dispersants and detergents as well.

So your dealer put the royal purple in for you,, do you see the car running cooler with the new oil,I did royal purple in my twin turbo cobra, the claim it help keep the engine running cooler.. when they drained the oil, did they find any thing from it being a new engine...shavings, or stuff like that??

No shaving whatsoever...there is an oil temp gauge in the menu and it has run cooler as well as MPG is better slightly. So far I have only ran 102 octane in my Hellcat. Only 6.99 a gallon!!!!!!

I'd love to do that. There still isn't much of it around here, versus other states I've been in where it was at every station. I'd just get my own tank at home to pump it from if needed.
