I think maybe letting it shift in manual mode.
If it shifted in D, woulda been ok.
It let go just as it was about to shift.

I try to never let mine get pass 6k but sometimes it will break loose as you know. No real gains pushing pass that for me. You are living my worst nightmare. Done this with a corvette before. I hate it for you buddy!

    Brother,

Sorry to hear, for 4K you can buy a short block and you are back in business within a few days. Just bad luck. East Coast Mopar has them in stock (well they did a month or two ago), I am sure others Dealers also have them in stock. Your setup is the same as a few other Cats, nothing really radical about it, just bad luck, IMO.

If you go the custom crank route, make sure the crank is designed for the supercharger load on the snout. The fine print of some of the custom cranks manufacturers say that it is not suitable for supercharged applications.

    Again, sorry this happened,

What rpm were you shifting at. Wonder if it spun a bearing or just broke a rod.

I was letting the trans force shift in manual mode.

I'll keep this short and sweet I am really sorry this happened. Remember I said in your other threads you had balls of steel for tearing into the cat like that. This was what I was afraid of man. Hope everything works out and you get the cat running strong again.

Man I don't know about that mine will only force shift in manual mode if a hit the rev limit super hard. Other then that it will just sit on the rev limit. Your talking paddle flipped to the left? I Believe there is a default shift on rev limit if a couple things are met.

    No worries guys.
    Sucks it happened.

I'm just weighing options at the moment.

Letting y'all take this ride with me.

    On the table we have,

    1. replace with a short block and have machine shop repair damaged heads, if damaged.

    2 replace with long block.

3 replace bare block and upgrade with billet crank, rods, etc.

    4. 426ci build

    5. 440ci (7.1L) build.

While doing one of the choices above, we will throw in some trans upgrades at the same time. Maybe just a converter, maybe more...

I think my rev limiter was set high enough that the trans would upshift no matter what. On my factory tune, it would never upshift.

That's the starter cable and nut cover I think you are referring to.

I meant the big hole in the block. Looks like the connecting rod broke in half and then swung around and took out a section of the block.
